How to properly align this hood...
So here is the deal. If you look at the instructions for installing the Canon hood in the SX60 manual, it will tell you to align the marks then twist clockwise. However, for this knock-off, you actually don't want to align them - you want to start with them 90 degrees apart - otherwise it wont go on easily. The mark on the camera is about 3:00 - but you want the hood mark at about 12:00, then twist 90 degrees clockwise - the marks will be lined up. It is worth noting that the hood alignment mark is only on the outer edge, making it impossible to actually see when mounting the hood. Also, this hood is not reversible as opposed to the true Canon hood.

Merely okay
Is it an effective hood for the Canon SX60. Well, yes, I suppose, but...... it's tricky to mount and I wonder sometimes if I'm ever going to get it to engage the lens. And... the worst part, you can't reverse the hood and mount it to the barrel. It only partially slides over the end and so can't be stowed with the camera if you use a neoprene type pouch. Honestly, I'm keeping it but I think I should have investigated some of the other hoods including Canon's LH-DC90 at twice the price. I also have a SX50 with a non-Canon hood. Unfortunately, the same company (can't remember the name) doesn't make one for the SX60.

have 'Canon DC-90' logo on the hood aligned with '16 ...
have 'Canon DC-90' logo on the hood aligned with '16.1MP' mark on the camera metal lenz cover on the side, push slowly but firmly (don't damage your lenz), turn the hood clock wise and DC90 logo should align with top canon mark on the camera. that's how I did; it's a bit tight but seemed to work

A good buy
It took a while to figure out how to put it on (no instructions included), but after I did, it goes on and comes off easily. Cost is much more reasonable than the Canon EOM.

Fits, but with a struggle
Would have been 5 stars if the lens hood had gone on more easily. Once you find the correct placement, it does go on, but needs to be straightened also. The camera lens doesn't give a lot for the hood to grab onto.

Good lens hood!
A good lens hood though a little tricky to get on, but I am very pleased with it which is rather more than I can say for the camera!

works great.
This took me awhile to figure out how it attaches, but I finally got it on. Once on, works great.

... to attach it otherwise I believe it should work fine.
Just a little time figuring how to attach it otherwise I believe it should work fine.

It's very difficult to fit to the lens but it ...
It's very difficult to fit to the lens but it may get easier after time. Doesn't seem to be reversible either. It was cheap compared to the official Canon version so can't complain too much.
