Timeguard TRT038 Digital Heating Programmer-3 Channel

My old one damaged I just replaced for the same one . I done by myself was so easy to do and very good product. Thank so much I m very happy

Item was exactly as described and arrived when expected.

I installed this 3-channel programmer to replace the Horstmann programmer already installed in our home. The Timeguard TRT038 is easy to use, and has a clear viewing screen. Two points to note, however.Firstly, be aware that unlike its Horstmann equivalent, the TRT038 does not enable control/switching of devices from de-energised channels. On the Hostrmann, I was able to energise control valves on a second boiler with feeds from de-energised programmer channels; not so with the TRT038.Secondly, I don't know whether this is a common fault, but only a few months in, the display is no longer back-lit. The display/control still operates without issue, but the illumination itself has died. It may be a LED issue, maybe circuit-related, but the cabling is proven good. As it stands, it makes the display very hard to read, especially when in a dark corner (as ours is).Otherwise, a nice device and one that includes an integral re-chargeable battery, which was paramount to us.

Pretty bog standard 3 zone programmer bought to replace a Horstmann with dead backup battery so would forget programs every time we had a power cut. Controls are relatively straightforward. Similar but slightly more responsive than the Horstmann with a nicer display. However there is very little space behind the programmer for wiring and no earth tab which made installation difficult. The instructions don't explain which connections are for which channel. Thankfully it's pretty easy to guess (channel 1 is left most, then 2 and 3)
