This databook is an essential handbook for every engineering student or professional.Engineers' Practical Databook provides a concise and useful source of up-to-date essential formula, charts, and data for the student or practising engineer, technologist, applied mathematician or undergraduate scientist. Unlike almost all other engineering handbooks out there, this one doesn't package itself as a heavy, expensive or cumbersome textbook, and doesn't contain any preamble or lengthy chapters of 'filler' material. You will find value cover-to-cover with all the essential formula, charts, and materials data. This handbook is suitable for use in support of Higher Education programmes, including Higher National Diplomas and accredited engineering degrees. Topics include the essentials of aerospace, civil, electrical and electronic, mechanical and general engineering. Chapters include Mathematics, Materials, Mechanics, Structures, Machines and Mechanisms, Electrical and Electronics, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Systems, and Project Management. First Edition is in SI Units. - Easy to use - Chapters organised by module/discipline topic - Physical, geometric, thermal, chemical and electrical properties - All variables and units clearly defined - Essential technical data Review: Nice book, reads great on a Kindle - This is a useful book, providing just the right level of detail for basic engineering and physical science applications, not too much and not too little. It gives a high level overview and practical equations on most engineering and physical science topics, with a nice mathematics section in the beginning. I especially liked that the author included some Ashby diagrams, these are helpful to see the big picture of materials behavior for a given applications. I would hope that the second edition might include a few more. This is a reference book and it does not provide examples, and it has minimal information on concepts, so you kind of need to know the basics to use it. It's a small book, well formatted and easy to read. It is not a comprehensive reference on all topics, and covers the main ones only, but if you want a short and concise book, that's what you need. There were a few typos in materials values, and the sections on Fluid Mechanics and Systems seemed a little light, but overall I was pleased with this book. Many engineers and physical scientists will find this a very handy reference. Some notation is geared toward British readers (e.g., the section on alloy steels), but most international readers will find the content relevant. Another plus is that the Kindle version is formatted just like the physical version (I have both), and reads perfectly, none of the unreadable equations like you often see in other technical Kindle books. Review: Super handy reference! - I got this to have references for those types of issues that crop up when you're offline or figuring something that you NEED a reference like this for! Has lots of good reference material on trig identities, calculus formulae, and more! Also has good practical engineering info, such as air density vs altitude, and so on! Recommended and exc. value! Thanks!

Must have for physics and engineering studies
Wish I had this book prior to my physics classes. Will come in handy for future engineering courses.

WHERE WAS THIS BOOK
This book is excellent! Filled to the brim with useful equations, tables, measurements, and diagrams. It’s very thin, maybe half an inch think and sleek. Absolutely love it and really upset I’ve just now found it with 2 semesters to go!

All the base engineering formulas and concepts in one handy book!
This book is amazing! It is an excellent reference for me as an engineering student. It serves as both a refresher of important concepts as well as a glossary of formulas. I no longer have to go looking through my textbook or notes for a formula; instead, I consult this book and find precisely what I need. It is very well-written and organized. Definitely worth every penny. Extremely handy for all engineering majors!

Great engineers reference book
It contains enough material that I bet could get you through the EIT or FE LICENSE. divided up into topics all engineers of all disciplines and use or refresh you memory to solve real world problems including engineering management. Impress you managers when you look at their charts. If you need more problems to work or more in depth go to Schaum's outlines. Great Ebook for IPADS for school or work. Highly recommend. May be lacking in computer science. I would buy a handbook more specific. Stay away from textbooks as they charge way too much. Go international " it's legal". And chip in together (Study groups for homework) and rent the US VERSION. That my opinion. And you will need to be in a study group if you want to get through a Masters Degree. Problems are much much complex and require coming up with you own equations to solve problems. They always give partial credit and want you to get that B so they can keep the tuition flowing in.

Excellent Summary for Engineers
This is basically a brief summary of every important subject for engineers. It is a great reference for engineering students just out of college and I might buy the physical book as well to have it on the bookshelf.

Absolutely Fantastic
I was absolutely blown away by how much material was condensed and placed into this book. An absolute must for engineering students (like myself) and probably field engineers. You have everything from derivative and integration tables to laplace transforms to thermodynamics to chemistry to dynamics and all the major equations and material properties from strength/mechanics of materials.

If you’re studying engineering, or need a reference book for projects, this is perfect.
This book has been a game-changer for me. It's a short collection of all the basic formulas for multiple subjects. What I liked is that there's no fluff, just equations and the definition of terms. I’ve used it for everything from solving practice exercises and just for revising. I only wish I got it on day 1 rather than half-way through a course. Note it's only in SI (metric) units, however this is fine for me, and it doesn't include any practice problems. On the plus side something nobody mentioned was that there's short one-sentence explanations underneath a lot of the topics, and there's a good number of diagrams. Honestly, if you’re studying engineering, or even just need a reference book for projects, this is perfect. It’s small and light enough to throw in a bag, affordable, and has a 10/10 picture of the Falcon 9 on the front. TL;DR: If you’re an engineering student, you need this book.
