Enjoyed the Avengers of a simpler time when the world was not in jepordy of annihilation with every issue

These are the original Avengers in all their glory and with really good and solid early stories, that are easy to follow and the art of the Jack Kirby....how much better can it get? The colors and inking are really good and i think it really does rank as good ad the Marvel Masterworks series..but a 1/3rd of the price! This Epic Graphic Novel, takes the place of my original single comic collection that i do not want to defile reading...any more then necessary!

Exactly the collection I was looking for! Hats off to Marvel for packaging these classic, historical stories in color for a reasonable price. I'm a longtime DC reader and have only recently been exploring the Marvel universe and these Epic Collections are an awesome way to build a collection. You would have to spend thousands of dollars to collect the original floppies.Collects Avengers #1-20 and features Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Ant Man and The Wasp among many others.Beautiful vintage art by Jack Kirby and sensational stories from Stan Lee.Highly recommended!Gave only four stars because my copy came damaged. Binding on lower left side completely warped and bent. :(

1960’s insults are so mean

Original avengers 1-24 in one cheap book. Epic Collection is a better option than paying more for Marvel Masterworks which average 10-12 comics per book

I purchased this collection because I wanted to re-read stories I first read when I was a kid. Mission accomplished. I am pleased with the purchase.

Great look back!

This is why Stan Lee was called "Stan the Man". He created so much wonderful magic. I've read these stories multiple times. They are a joy. And let's not forget Jack Kirby. Those early pencils, awesome, especially when Captain America wakes up and is calling for Bucky in issue #4. I love the emotional pain on Cap's face as all the Avengers try to stop him and calm him down. Of course Cap just rolls right over them. The colors just pop on the page. I hold these old classics close to my heart.

Por isso, não espere algo no nível de Watchmen ou Cavaleiro das Trevas.

I enjoyed reading this a lot even though it had some flaws.The stories tended to have amazing build up and they felt like stories of epic proportions in comparison to other comics of the era. What I didn't like so much was that they tended to have pretty anticlimactic endings, often with something akin to a deus ex machina.I liked seeing the original origin story behind the avengers and seeing how the characters interact with each other. I particularly found the Hulk's role interesting and unexpected.At times it felt pretty dated. The portrayal of Wasp was pretty weak and she appeared as a pretty immature, single-minded character. It was also clear that the stories were written by someone with very little science and tech knowledge at a time when such knowledge wasn't so widespread, and this unfortunately makes Iron Man pretty lame compared to the modern cinematic universe.Still, despite the weaknesses I still really enjoyed it and can recommend it to any Marvel fans interested in learning about some of the brand's roots.

I forgot how good the first Stan Lee and Jack Kirby comics were.

Gran trabajo el de marvel con esta Epic Collection recopilando los cómics originales que dieron lugar a los personajes míticos de sus franquicias, más de moda ahora que nunca gracias a sus adaptaciones al cine. Se ha hecho una gran labor de "remasterización" de las ilustraciones, especialmente en el color, pero respetando los trazos originales de Lee, Kirby y compañía. Están en inglés, pero con un nivel bastante asequible.
