Invaluable tool for mounting hinges, etc.
I didn't even know that this tool existed until I saw it recommended on a YT video. The price was right and the assortment of sizes is great. Really helpful when mounting hinges.

Perfect at what’s it’s designed to do
I recently purchased some decorative hinges and handles for my garage door. These were screwed in and anyone who ever drilled or tried to center a drill in a hole and didn’t have it dance around and end up off center. Or use a center punch and still miss dead center? Then when you miss either the screw never sits flush or the item shifts and then it’s not where you wanted it. This eliminates all that. Find the right size and every hole will be spot on. I had no issues except one of the bits cameLoose but they provide an Allen wrench to adjust and change bits. I am sure there is better overall quality out there but on the rare occasion I find myself needing to center drill something this is prefect. I supposed if I was hanging hinges etc all day I question how long these would hold up because I believe there is a price to pay for anything. If it’s cheaper then generally there wereCorner cut somewhere. So for the once in a while use you cannot go wrong.

Smallest sizes to be tapered, but...
I use these for the very small sizes on Jewelry and Keepsake boxes. I found that the three smallest bits do not have a tapered end (visible if you zoom in on the picture, so I presume they all come that way), HOWEVER, I was able to easily remove the barrel and O-spring, then place it into a drill press chuck and then use a file to put my own taper on the end. This allows the bit end to 'hold' itself in the 1/16 and 5/64 holes much better. It only took about two minutes per bit to fix and it was easy with a drill press and file. I hope this helps some else too, because I wasn't to happy with my first impression, but since it was so easy to fix, I'm giving 5 stars instead of three. I like how they can be taken apart easily, too for changing bits, etc. I'd certainly buy these again or maybe get a second set.

You can find better
I have used "vix bits" for 40 years and these are not designed well. The tips should be beveled so that the bit centers itself when pressed to the object you are attempting to screw down, such as a door hinge. These bits are not beveled at all. You will have to search thru all bits that they give you and try to find one that fits exactly the hole in the item that you are trying to attach. You only really need two or three size bits with beveled tips that fit a wide range of screw sized. Personally, in my business (cabinet making), I only needed one size bit that was good for a multitude of screw sizes. Look on Amazon for bits made by the S.E. Vick Co. You may pay a little more, but the are professional grade and save you time and money in the end.

A good idea.
These are a great idea, and great value. They work well, but a couple needed the ends sanded to a better taper for the self-centering feature. Well worth the hassle.
