Never has there been a commentary written on the Qur'an by former Muslim scholars. The alleged claim of the Qur'an's Arabic inscrutability for non-Muslim minds evaporates as these ex-Muslim researchers give a guided commentary tour of each verse(ayat)citing Islam's most authoritative historical Sunni scholars. The explanatory chapters are equally impressive, designed for Western-trained readers who needs to recall or learn first-hand the unique nature, features, and composition of the Qur'an. This first English volume is brilliant and begs for completion of the series.It is too early to know how this will be read or used by missiologists and/or Christian disciples working with Muslims. The first intended audience is clearly ex-Muslims as well as believers from a Muslim background and other Christians ministering to Muslims. It will be fascinating to hear how this may used in increasingly wider circles. The coloured, glossy quality of printing will keep this hardcover work in the higher cost range. It will become a sought-after reference work for serious students and libraries. I am proud to own it.Again, brilliant work and hopefully a French translation will soon join the separate Arabic and English editions.

Great work.. I loved the effort in compiling and explaining many of the Quran versus and how they relate to each other within same and different chapters. I can't wait for the second book.

We didn't realize this copy is in the Arabic language. We wanted it in English. We're still figuring out if we want to return it or give it away or getting around to ordering it in English. Our error in not fully reading title which says Arabic. Perhaps noting it elsewhere in the description would help future buyers.

It is very good book. Nicely organized, good quality of paper and cover. It gives very nice explanation about Quran, esp. it was written by someone knows Islam very well. I recommend this book to everyone interested in religion and/or history. The English version will be out probably early 2011. I cannot wait for Par 2.

I have not finished it yet, but I enjoyed reading it. Hopefully they the second book will come out soon.

The Quran has many issues of language and non arabic wards problems. This book is bringing them to customer attention to proof that Quran is not from the God but it is from human.

I had hoped to see the depth that the author had studied and researched the Qur'an, but the entire text is in Arabic.Non Arabic readers beware this is not a book written in English. I guess I will give it some of my Egyptian Coptic friends.
