Smiling Worm ~ Formula 5 is a special low moisture soil mix of 4 organic ingredients, specifically prepared for cactus, succulent and caudex plants. It’s an open mix which permits air circulation between the roots and has excellent drainage properties. The base ingredient is washed coco peat, which has natural rooting hormones and good moisture retention properties. We add silica rich, heat-treated rice hulls to discourage soil compaction. Silica stimulates cell production in roots and stems to encourage strong growth. It also acts as an organic alternative to Perlite. We add crushed coco husk chips. The coco husk chips not only aid drainage but act as miniature sponges which reserve air around the roots. Finally, we add granulated coco husk shell charcoal for good drainage. It's hard like grit, and long lasting. We include a 120 ml bottle of our organic fertilizer. It will not only feed your plants but also protect them against fungal and aphid attack. Only 2 feeds a year are necessary for cactus. It contains 100% natural NPK content and other micro nutrients such as: Calcium, Magnesium, Sulfur, Zinc, Copper, Iron and Manganese. We also include a bag of our coconut fiber drainage layer. Simply place the fiber in the bottom of the pot before adding the soil. We always blend our organic ingredients by hand. This ensures a fresh product. Many soil mixes contain up to 40% water. It adds weight to the bag for added perceived value. However we don't want to sell you stagnant water.
