squirrels also love it but some cayenne pepper mixed with the seeds and on the suet keep them from pigging out.Previous feeders fell (literally) victim to big squirrel booty. This feeder is so sturdy and strong, I am not worried about durability. It is also easy to hose down and clean since the side panels come out! ITS NICE, BUT HAVE NOT USED IT YET, IT IS SMALLER THAN WHAT I HAD, BUT IT WOULD WORK GREAT ON A PATIO OR PORCH ESPECIALLY IN THE WINTER TIME, IT REALLY DON’T HOLD MUCH BIRD SEED, but if it on a porch and very easy to get to, it should work great, birds eat a lot especially in the winter. But it is nice, I would RECOMEND it for a porch or patio.

I have 2 of these bird feeders, and just ordered another one for my daughter. I have several bird feeders and these 2 are the ones that the birds (&Squirrels) prefer; yes I feed the squirrels too, and love it! Easy to fill! My birds and squirrels are very happy!

I bought one of these feeders a few years ago. It arrived pre-assembled and it was great. I decided to buy a new one this year because the old one was pretty worn.I ordered the new one in August, but didn't bother to open the box until now, when it's cold enough that I want "my" backyard birds to have a steady food source for winter.I was seriously annoyed to find that the new one arrived completely unassembled. The screws are just about impossible to screw into the hard wood. I don't own a drill because I usually never have to use one. There are no pre-drilled holes for the screws to even start to get in.So now I don't know what to do with the thing (I'm not buying a power-tool for one bird-feeder). I've assembled beds and other furniture I bought on Amazon myself, because they provided the right tools and instructions. This is just ridiculous and useless.It's too bad, because the assembled feeder was very nice, and I may need to just throw this one out because it's too late to return it. I'll try to find an assembled one from another brand to replace it with, but this was a waste of money.
