Voice Recorder for Lectures (16GB)

This is an excellent recorder and lightweight. This little unit is sensitive and met all of my tests. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of its more expensive kin and it has enough to fulfill my need. Also amazingly clear audio pickup even when it's riding in a closed chest pocket. The Languages option is very useful for different people to get use to this recorder.

The product was shipped and arrived within 1 day. I was pleasantly surprised at how compact the product was, but how powerful it is! the mic and sound quality are wonderful- so much so that it picks up my cats meowing in the background or the crumble of a paper. It’s light weight, easy to travel with, reliable, and great quality sound and speakers. Perfect audio! Would definitely recommend for anyone who needs a hand held recording device.

Needs better directions, take time to figure out

This recorder is fairly decent - it is robust, lets you record in various formats (the one I tested mine in was 16-bit, 48Khz WAV format [which the recorder labels as "1536kbps"], and which the recorder does not default to, but you can change it) and allows you to record constantly if the need arises. The frequency response (I opened files to test in Audition) seem to span from 100Hz to at least 20Khz (so it doesn't clamp frequencies near 14Khz-16Khz like some recorders do, which is a definite welcome change!), but there is some high-end hiss in recordings with not a lot of background noise (like sitting the recorder on the table and letting it record room tone.) The recorder has 2 openings for microphones, but I don't think it's a stereo mic - I might be wrong on this, but for what I use it for, that's not too big of a concern.The one thing it's missing, and would be a very welcome update (maybe a firmware update can include this feature?) is level control (microphone sensitivity) - I use my recorder for recording journal entries, and I get loud sometimes - there is a definite amount of clipping when I speak too close to the recorder, or when it is running close by and I speak louder than in a normal volume of voice. Some ability to control the microphone sensitivity would definitely help alleviate that!

Recorder arrived quickly after ordering. The device itself is fairly small and lightweight which is great for carrying with me on the go. Setup and use was quick and easy. The recording quality is really good for such a small device, it managed to capture both me talking and my cat meowing in the background with no static. I'm looking forward to using this more!

I used this recorder to listen and record my lectures in school. However for some reason i cannot seem to listen to my recordings that had been saved on my memory card beforehand. They do not show up on the mp3 as songs nor recordings. I'm very displeased and I would not recommend it to anyone.

In all honesty, I think this recorder is a bit difficult to use. It is definitely not intuitive like many electronics are these days (like the iPhone is). There are more buttons than necessary and it’s hard to figure out even how to delete a recording. I ended up ordering a simpler item with only 2 buttons. The delivery was on time and everything, I just didn’t like the product itself.

The recorder is easy to use and to carry around (about the size of a Zippo lighter but taller). It has both functions of recording and playing music. Tested the recording function and the sound quality is good. A USB charger and a set of earphone are included. Like the USB charger, as it makes charging very convenient. Also like that the recorder has a lot of language choices in its settings. BTW, delivery is super fast.
