Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Protein, Double Rich Chocolate, 16 Ounce

Ordered this product as a supplement during my first pregnancy and have used it as a primary source of protein since meat became completely revulsive--and a girl can only eat so many eggs. Some protein powders are sickly sweet, others are chalky, others don't mix well in water, and some cause all kinds of stomach issues. This product has none of that. Mixes easily in water and goes down smoothly. Subtle taste with no icky fake sweet taste. Helps me get the protein I need to stay healthy & keeps me full for hours. I use it to make a shake, mixed in with oatmeal in the morning, mixed with yogurt for a snack, and have even used it when baking to help amp up the nutrition of my baked goods. Totally satisfied. Have shared this product with my trainer at the gym, who gave rave reviews, and ended up providing samples to several other of the staff there. They are talking about switching out the protein supplement currently sold at my gym with this product, that's how much they love it! And my husband is totally on board too--he now keeps a jug at the office. Love, love, love this product. Have tried in vanilla ice cream & double chocolate. Both flavors are delicious. Highly recommend!

I'm a really small guy, and this stuff keeps me from collapsing into dust. I've used this to complement my exercises (mainly long distance running) and it has actually allowed me to gain some muscle mass.I'm allergic to (or don't like) most sources of protein, so this stuff is great!For whatever reason, this product tastes just as good as more expensive products I have used. I just drink it with water. It does taste enough like chocolate, not some sort of slimy crayon or dirt. Of course, we're not in it for the taste.

I started taking whey protein because I began working out in April 2013 (have lost 24 lbs to date) and wanted to start building muscle. In my experience, the mix doesn't blend quite as well as I had hoped. I get chunks stuck to the side of my blender and end up having to scrape it off with a knife or spoon. If you are going to mix it by hand, do it in half scoops because you'll get lumps on the bottom. I have noticed that it helps control my hunger and suppresses my appetite.The taste is OK. I read the reviews and ordered this flavor because it was supposed to be the "better tasting" of the bunch. I am not a big fan of the taste. It smells AMAZING, though. I have learned how to mask the flavor. I take two large bananas, 1/4 cup ice, 1.5 cups of 2% milk and a scoop of whey and blend it all together. It tastes really good that way, and you can barely taste the product. I had to switch to 2% because the skim wasn't masking the whey flavor. It does get easier to drink the longer you start drinking it.I will probably order it again. If anyone else has any delicious ways to mix this up, let me know.

Optimum Nutrition is an awesome brand, and this product in particular is fantastic! It has a rich, velvety double chocolate flavor and great consistency. It dissolves well in water, almond or coconut milk, or even used to make an iced protein coffee shake. I use this product frequently when I do the 5:2 diet and am having a fasting day. I have 4 of these protein shakes on my fasting day, and I can really tell that it's helping me to lose weight even when I don't exercise!

This is a solid and quality whey protein powder. What it isn't, is appetizing. You may think it's not a big deal and you can choke anything down in the name of health, but it really does make a difference when you're drinking this stuff on a daily basis. Luckily, there are other flavors aside from this chalky chocolate. Vanilla, for instance, in this exact same product line from the same company, is actually quite delicious. I would strongly suggest Vanilla, my friends.

I use this protein powder in my morning shake on gym days. I'm a mom who works out like 2-3 days a week, not a bodybuilder or anything. I was just looking to increase my protein, and also for something I could drink in the mornings before going to the gym so I wouldn't get dizzy.That said, I could not stand it in a shaker. It stayed chunky and I just couldn't get over that.But I love it how I make it now. I use a Magic Bullet and put in:1/2 banana1 scoopfill with 1% milkSo quick and easy and yummy. Gives me just enough energy for a good workout.

This is probably the most natural chocolate-tasting protein drink I've had. Many of are awful, presumably because of the sweeteners used. I bought this 1 lb. tub to test it out and I just ran out (15 servings later), so I'm on here to order a 5 lbs. tub.Weird thing though, my dad uses another brand and I told him to try this one because it tasted so good. He blends his drink with ice. He tried it but the *ICE DIDN'T BLEND NORMALLY* with this mix. The ice was blended, but it all congealed into an ice mass in the bottom of the blender. I’m picky when it comes to protein powders because I’m a very clean eater and I don’t like things that taste synthetic. This one was not offensive and tasted good. I deducted one star because it didn’t have as much chocolate flavor as I would like but I could add cocoa powder to make it stronger if I wanted. It doesn’t quite fulfill my chocolate craving but it makes me feel full which is important.It tastes good mixed with just water and it mixes easily with just a spoon which is very convenient when you are in a hurry.I would purchase this again.

Excelent product

Didn't fully dissolve in my smoothies that I would blend in my Magic Bullet, but the taste was good. Also, it was smaller than I expected.
