Great boot
Second year on them and no issues. Got tagged by a large cottonmouth and all was good. My underwear afterwards was a different story

To all the complainers, there are 2 types of zippers....
My 1st pair of these boots, had the zipper that most poor reviews are complaining about. A lite weight "herringbone type" interlace of the zipper, and yes... The inner liner would get caught in the zipper! But as luck would have it, this pair ran small on the left foot, so a replacement pair was issued. That's when I found that there are 2 styles of zippers. The new pair had a much heavier duty style zipper, and the inner flap does not get caught up in this style of zipper... A much improved zipper! These boots fit well, super lite, waterproof (Gore-Tex membrane), and the mud or dirt will hose right off due to the ScotchGuard type coating already applied to them. They also have a very open tread pattern, that with 1-2 stomps the dirt falls out.I recommend these to anyone needing a lite weight, "snake-proof", water proof boot, providing....You get the ones with the heavy duty zipper!

Nice boots, but warm for snake boots. Order a size large or remove the insole.
These are good snake boots. They fit my size 12 foot only after I removed the insole. I was going to send them back because they were too small, but then I figured I would see what they were like without the insole and they were fine. I don't worry about snakes or wear snake boots in the winter time. These boots would be nice winter boots, though. They are quite warm in the summer. Now there's an issue with the zipper, as it catches on the inner lining both unzipping and zipping every time. However, there is a way to keep this from happening: There is a velcro tab on the top of the boot. If while either zipping or unzipping you will retract this tab enough to put tension on the zipper and keep the opening as wide as possible, the zipper will not get caught and will work just fine. The manufacturer should either A. eliminate the zipper and replace with velcro tabs or B. Create a narrow rubber tab on either side of the zipper to keep the lining out of the zipper.

whoever said these were easy to put on is full of bs
First of all, the zipper on this boot is horrendous. They perpetually get stuck and are very stiff and difficult to pull up or down. Secondly, whoever said these were easy to put on is full of bs. You basically have to flex your ankle like a ballerina to get your foot in the boot. Once your feet are in, good luck in getting the zippers all the way up.. They are comfortable to wear but, too much of a hassle to put on and the zippers are garbage. I even tried working the zippers a little to get them to work more easily but, that did not help. Buy a different brand - I cannot recommend these.

Third times a charm, so far!
The first pair I received the zipper broke the first time I tried them on....... but, I’m a Rocky boot fan so I ordered a replacement pair, so far so good. Three pair later; it seems, at least at this point, Rocky has fixed the zipper problem. Very comfortable boots, no breakin time. Water proof, snake proof, provin against an aggressive water moccasin. Great traction in all terrain. Purchase a pair, you won’t be disappointed. I do not give 5 stars, always room for improvements.

Believe the Bad Zipper reviews or you will waste your time like I did ...
The zippers are bad - period. The boots appear otherwise very well made, adding to the buyer frustration. I have the Rocky lace-ups, which are great but notoriously difficult to put on and lace up (by design but they work great once on). Ordered the zippered ones like a lot of people because it seemed easier to put on. I tried these zip ones on, then went to take one off and the zipper was stuck about three inches down from the top. I was lucky the boots were very roomy (which I like to add socks) or I would have had to break them apart to get them off my foot. This is equivalent to DOA, so back they went with a big "sigh" because I wanted to like them. With the Zipper exposed like it is, it likely would not last very long anyway if you got into some mud with them. Get the lace-ups and don't look back!

VERY UNCOMFORTABLE
This was one of the most uncomfortable shoes, boots I have ever tried. They are very hard on the inside. No cushioning as for the insoles and the shaft felt like a piece of fiberglass wrapped around my leg, hard plastic that doesn't give much at all when you bend at the ankle. I did get mine on a warehouse deal but they were not as described. Several spots on the material had frayed loose from the seam where the pieces were joined together. Where the material wasn't caught good with the sewing machine. Someone else mentioned they needed to be broken in. I don't think that would help these or at least I want be putting my feet through that. Maybe if you have some good thick wool socks and a good insole to put inside. It felt like my feet was in a wood box. Also the 8.5 wide didn't feel like a wide. As for the zipper it was metal and I didn't have a problem with zipping them up. You just have to make sure the material part that's there is pushed in. I was shocked that rocky put this boot out. So unless you just want to torture your feet pass on these.

Can't get foot in the boot at all - totally unwearable
I bought a pair of these boots in size 10 for myself and they worked great. Bought another pair for my wife in size 8 as a gift. Amazingly, it is totally impossible to get your foot into the bottom of the boot. Something went bad wrong at the factory when they stitched it together around the ankle area of the boot. We tried and tried to get her foot in, but it isn't going to happen. It's impossible. You can tell that if she could get past the ankle and into the foot part of the boot, they would fit like a charm. Requested and was granted a return from Amazon. Not willing to take another chance on getting another defective pair and will have to go in a store and try a pair on before buying. Thank You Amazon though for making the return so easy. Like I said, I can't say enough good about my size 10 pair of this same boot. I've worked for months in them and they still work great. No issues whatsoever with the zipper by me.
