BNC Crimp Tool Set, BNC/TNC Ratched Crimp Plie and Rotary Coaxial Cable Stripper with 10pcs BNC Male Crim Connectors for RG58

It may not be a "professional" ratchet crimper, but for the hobbyist or infrequent user, and at the price point paid, this crimping tool, complete with 10 RG58 BNC connectors can't really be faulted! I admit that I will not be using this item very often, and have not needed to terminate crimp on BNC connectors previously - but this kit has allowed me to easily and successfully put a male BNC connector onto an extremely short (less than 7cm long), piece of RG58 coax cable that had been left remaining after the main length of cable was cut off from a vintage piece of kit by some thoughtless previous owner. (With the particular item concerned, and due to the original termination point being potted in resin, it is physically impossible to remove that short length of cable and re-terminate a new cable directly at the origin). The new connector was very easy to install. - Firstly stripping off the necessary amounts of cable sheath and inner separator sheath for the centre core, then soldering the brass centre core pin, adjusting the outer mesh core, crimping the ferrule with the ratchet crimping tool, and finally heating the heat shrink tube to complete the connector assembly. Testing with a multi-meter confirmed that the cores were not shorted out, and that there was good electrical continuity as necessary. I can only say that the BNC connectors are of perfectly adequate quality, and are very easy to connect to the cable. I would recommend this kit for anyone needing to fit BNC connectors to RG58 cable.

Excellent value, BNC Crimp tool, Coax stripping tool and RG58 crimp connectors. The addition of10 x RG59 crimp connectors would completed an already good buy.

Stripper can not work well

the cutting tool & BNC ends are totally useless - the crimp ends don’t fit on RG59 cable metal crimp connector doesn’t fit over the cable - the crimp doesn’t fit the centre pin. Total waste of money Will be sending back

Its a nice piece of kit for a DIY person. Grateful to get this and its worked a treat.

supplied stripper is not set up for RG58 out of the box, but unlike other times I've encountered that device this time the packaging included instructions, which was good. The supplied connector's pins did not fit on the center conductor of my RG58 (too small, even with shaving away a few strands), so I've not managed to use the tool successfully. Using the crimper on a friend's connector outer crimp didn't seem to have a well-matching crimp die, have not tried on the supplied connectors due to not being able to fit the center pin. At this time I would not recommend, if I manage to get it to work with other BNC connectors, I may update this review.

I do some networking computer work and occassionally some related AV work which invariably includes 'old tech' and some of that entails crimping bnc connectors onto RG58 cable. This tool may not be needed every time I work but I am sure it will be very useful from time to time. Having the correct tool makes working with networks and cables so much handier.
