This wireless remote control system kit allows you to control devices through walls, cabinets and other obstacles. Thick barriers, metal studs and steel mesh in walls can reduce the signals effectiveness but distances of more than one hundred feet are not uncommon. Compact at less than 2 inches square and made from solid aluminum, you place the IR Sender Unit (TX) near your TV or attach the IR Sender cable to your TV bezel if you want to hide the TX Unit. Your remote’s signal will then be received and transmitted via Radio Frequency (RF) from the TX unit to the RX unit near the device you want to control. Installation Instructions: Step 1- Place the IR Sender (TX) unit and Sender cable in your desired location (ex: TV, Display). Step 2- Place the IR Receiver (RX) unit and IR emitter/receiver cable on the device you want to control. (ie: Cable/Sat Box, DVD player, A/V Receiver). The emitter bud should be placed directly on the IR sensor of the device you are trying to control. Step 3- Plug the IR Sender (TX) cable into the “Ext IR IN” jack on the TX unit and plug the IR emitter/receiver cable into the “Ext IR Out” jack of the emitter RX unit. Step 4- Connect the USB power supply cable to each unit and then either plug the USB cables into a USB port on your devices or into the port on a 110v adapter (not included). Additional devices can be controlled, up to 4, by using a 4 bud emitter RX cable available from Inteset. However, control of multiple devices can reduce the signal range. Step 5-Pair the units using the Lock ID buttons on both units. Press and hold the Lock ID button on the TX unit first until it blinks then press the Lock ID button on the RX unit until it blinks. Reliable IR repeating product
Over the years I've used about a dozen different IR repeater systems, both RF and hardwired. The old Powermid system (I think from both RCA and Radio Shack at the time) used to work, but I never felt it was particularly reliable. Hardwired systems (some amplified, one recent purchase totally unamplified) have been hit-or-miss for me too, given the weak output of older IR diodes. The recent purchase of a metal-box multi-output repeater was a particular disappointment; its unamplified output is so weak that the IR signals don't jump even a 2" gap. So now this system... ahhh. Literally 30 years of various disappointments and finally one I can trust. The blast output (particularly the built-in one) is bright and covers most of my equipment without individual emitters. The blue led on the sending side is quite bright (may be annoying; cover it partially if so) but has never not reacted properly to a remote control input. Now my application has the remote receiver only about 10 feet away, so I can't say how far the RF signal would go, but for my use I'm quite happy with this. This could be the last one I ever buy, theoretically.

Works great with no setup issues
I tried several IR range extenders including IR over HDMI ( the worst solution ever), since my DVR is in another room from the TV and it was a pain to walk back and forth to change programming. These devices were simple to configure and work great with no problems. The transmitter end is powered by the TV USB port so I did not need a power supply at that end. The receiver end required the use of one of the wall warts since the DVD USB port was not hot until after being turned on.

Works perfectly
All of the speaker wires, HDMI, etc for our home theater are fed into a closet where the receiver is and IR is not available. Hooked this up and it works perfectly. Thankfully, our receiver is contolable via Android app, but it takes time to pull up and connect. This is really nice to finally be able to grab the factory remote again to adjust volume/etc.

Instructions somewhat confusing
After I figured out the instructions and was able to get it installed correectly it is very good allowing me to control my TV from another room. Strong broadcast signal. Does not need the provided extentions in my use but they may be necessary when the units are had to reach or hidden in an entertainment center.

Good but not long range
Works well but I would not call it long range. 50' through two walls and cabinet door. Blue light on transmitter is anoying night. Way to bright.

Gave as a Gift
I bought this as a Christmas gift, so I cannot rate the specifics, but all reports from the gift recipient have all been great!

Worked well for a ventilation system installed in my attic.
It did just what I expected. Seems to have a good range.
