these are foam but they aren't super soft if thrown hard enough it can hurt someone but not like a regular ball would

I’ve had these for years. The only show of destruction is my cats sometimes biting them. Honestly would be the perfect ball for little league.

Great soft balls so that our windows don’t break when my nephew hits them! Great for a little baseball player in the making

My daughter uses these to practice pitching at the wall in her room. Good travel and no damage to wall or room items when hit. Only downside, I wish they were the size of a 12" softball.

My boys love these balls! I like using it for practice, hitting, and not being scared of actual baseballs flying at my head.

I have two young boys who are learning how to play baseball, and catch a ball in general. These sponge balls are perfect for this. They're soft enough not to hurt them if they miss the ball and get hit in the face, but firm enough to give them a feel for a batted ball. If you're kids are just learning, and you are concerned with their readiness to handle a real (or harder) ball, then give these a try.
