Typical Chia Pet
Who knew Chia pets were so expensive now? Bought this for my grandson since it was one of the less pricey ones, didn't notice it was a girl smurf. He didn't seem to mind and has put the seeds on it. When you wet the seeds they produce a goo that runs down the base, but I guess that's how it works. He started it a few days ago and no greenery yet, we'll see how it goes. A cute product if it works.

Applying the Seeds
This was the first chia pet I ever bought, I purchased it as a gift. I thought the plant grew through holes of the chia pet but you actually ‘paint’ the seeds in and the water at the base is enough for the plant to grow. If I bought another, I probably wouldn’t buy one with such a vertical surface area as it was tough to ‘paint’ on the seeds. We still managed and the plant looked great.

Ok
Because of the shape of her hair, the seeds slide right down and won't stick. So it didn't really work.

Cool concept, didn't work quite right.
The concept is good, however the head is too vertical and the seeds slide off. Followed the directions and tried three times, but they just didn't hold. Ended up with a bald Troll with a rocking beard.

Great seller and product
Product was delivered sooner than expected. Was supposed to arrive after Christmas but seller took it upon themselves to send it priority. The product looked great and we are patiently waiting for it to grow. ;)

Adorable - but why can’t I ever get a chia pet to grow?!!!

Eh...nope.
Poppy is a great idea and great money-maker for any company. However, this one just doesn't work. Our Poppy looks like she has a severe case of male pattern baldness. In fact, she resembles Donald Trump in many ways: (1) The hair is growing very long on the sides and in the back; (2) The top is a hot mess of half-sprouted seeds, unsprouted seeds and seeds that are showing fuzz from something going horribly wrong; and (3) Her ears have some hair action and there is one long sprouted seed on her eyebrow that clearly was an accident.Perhaps if the head were shorter, the water would reach the seeds more evenly. Poppy is a different beast, though. And I can't recommend her in Chia form.

Very cute, grows perfectly
Grows great, my son loves watching it grow. People who say the seeds don't stick or that it's poorly designed must not be measuring the water correctly or following the instructions. It's a very cute chia pet.
