I been using Restoration Laboratory's shampoo a little over a year and a half. It works if you use it correctly. The one star reviews are evidently people that can't translate directions from english to their language. To use it properly wet your hair when you first get in the shower and apply the HDT shampoo. You must massage it in your scalp for a minute or two and leave it in until you finish showering. (preferably 5 minutes or longer) I did this for about 9 months every day and the hair on the crown of my head filled back in. I also bought Dr. Formulas hair omega DHT vitamins. I don't take 2 a day as thats a bit much for some of the common vitamins I already get in my diet. What's amazing is this combination not only filled in my hair at age 73 but it has also restored the melanin which gives your hair it's natural color, so my gray is turning dark brown now. I use one bottle of shampoo about every 4 - 5 months, a little goes a long way and the vitamins last 3 months. PS. I don't do reviews but some of you guys are really trying to correct you hair loss problem and I've been there. Also, I only shampoo every other day now that my hair has filled in. I truely hope this helps but if you can't invest the time to do it right and keep doing it long enough for results then I wouldn't start. I did not think it would work but I bought it and used it correctly and stayed with it and I'm glad I did now.

I am not sure if people are simply confused, or if they are expecting a Bosley hair transplant from using a topical shampoo, but, either way, this shampoo works just fine. Now, what may work for some people may not work for others, and this fact seems to be lost on many who are writing reviews here. Additionally, DHT wins every time. YOU CANNOT STOP DHT FROM CAUSING MAKE PATTERN BALDNESS. Certainly a shampoo will not achieve this. Some of these products can help make the hair you have thicker and healthy, but they will not stop DHT. It is a losing battle and if you are going bald you need to either accept it as fact or go and get hair plugs at Bosley...it is as simple as that.

This is the second time that we purchased it. The first was my husband , I tried and it works well in my scalp. So I decided to buy again. I noticed hair growth & less falling hair. Just a bit pricey but the quantity goes a long way. Just use a small amount. I hope you can make a conditioner out of this brand because my own conditioner doesn’t work well with it, maybe that’s the reason I”m having a falling hair. If I used the shampoo alone my hair is tangle and dry, because I have a coarse, curly hair. That’s why I needed a conditioner to match it to make it softer. This shampoo was fine... I bought it to deal with both itchy/flaky scalp and hair thinning and I can't really say it did a great job on either front. I was previously using Nizoral -- which works like a charm -- but looking for something a little less harsh. In theory this fit the bill but I think the ketoconazole content just isn't high enough. On the hair loss front I think it was about the same as with the Nizoral/sulfate-free shampoo alternating system I was using before. The main reason I won't buy again, however, is the smell.. which I can only describe as "old man cologne." I found it totally off putting when I opened the cap for the first time and it never got any more appealing the entire time I used this shampoo (and I used the whole bottle because I'm cheap. ha). I'm going to try the "sent from the earth" caffeine/biotin/ketoconazole shampoo next on the hope that the "peppermint" scent is more appealing. It certainly couldn't get worse.

I had been using Minoxidil for a couple of years, and several months ago started using HairMax Ultima 12 LaserComb. After 4 months of using the HairMax I started to see fewer hairs in the sink after applying Minoxidil.Then I discovered this shampoo. After a few weeks hair in the sink was reduced even more, to almost nothing. Yes! I've gone through one bottle of the stuff now, and I'm still seeing the same positive results.I won't say my hair loss has been halted, but it sure has slowed down a lot! And I can't honestly say that this success is due to the use of this shampoo alone. But I recommend the combination of Minoxidil, laser light therapy, and this shampoo for treatment of hair loss. No question about it.I'm satisfied with this product and will continue to use it.

this shampoo is the best. I have tried Alpecein, Briggs and many others, but this one is without doubt the best. It WORKS- you have to follow what it states on the bottle. Most important you need to leave it on your scalp after massaging for 3-5 minutes. From experience leave it for 5minutes. what i do is wet hair first rub into scalp and wait 5mins then shower, just to save on the water!- STICK with it you will notice the difference towards the 1st end bottle and beginning of the 2nd. You must be DISCIPLINED- otherwise it will not work- I personally use the shampoo every day so i cannot comment on using only 2-3 times a week- YES it is expensive, but a lot less than having some type of hair replacement therapy- £450 approx a year -most people will spend that on Booze a year- it depends how highly you want your hair to regrow, because it will. I have been using it for about 6 weeks everyday so results may have been quicker than if i had been using it 2-3 times a week. If you have the time to stand and work the shampoo into the hair - sit or stand for between 3-5 minutes (the longer the better) then shower quickly and do not mind paying £44 a month then you need to Buy this now.. it will work but you have to be patient- Yes we live in a DISPOSABLE society that if things do not work after 5mins then throw it away..... NOT SO. Stick with it- this is a long term process, (weeks/months)- not days. Good Luck

Very disappointed with this shampoo. Previously it was excellent. It was a very thick golden brown colour and had a nice smell, the new formula (I.e the cheaper way to produce the shampoo) is almost translucent and extremely liquidy and no smell off it. They’ve obviously decided to try and mast produce at a much cheaper cost but the end product is no longer worth the price. Won’t buy again

Iv used a few natural "hair boosting" shampoos,and many leave your hair quite dry..this one dosent,smells great,also,many shampoos of this nature dont lather...this lathers up great,it really cleans your hair and leaves it feeling well conditioned and clean.Cant not mention the price,it sure aint cheap at £45 (August 2019) so its a bit of a downside.On the other hand,you never regret buying quality,and shampoos of this nature are never £2.99.So all in all,if you can stomach the cost,its a great buy!

I was surprised for a shampoo that contained ketoconazole this did not strip my hair. I need the ketoconazole as I suffer from sebborheic dermatitis. I shampoo every third day and my hair does not frizz like it normally does after a shampoo. Also where I need to usually shampoo daily to keep my SD under control, I'm amazed I can go longer in between washes without my SD flaring up. I use this with a topical product that blocks DHT and my shedding has decreased tremendously. As for new hair growth, that is yet to be seen but I am happy that there is hope for my follicles.

I bought some in Jan 2020 and have used only this since - 2-3 times a week, one wash. My bald patch is definitely smaller rather than larger. I thought it was working but my partner just showed me two pictures - one Jan 2020 and one Jan 2021. Definitely works! So many snake oil peddlers out there and even tried Regaine (but it gave me heart palpitations). Definitely worth a shot - and im quite a cynic!
