112 - Flame Resistant High Temperature Self-fusing Silicone Electrical Insulation Tape 1 in x 30 ft

Wow this stuff is awesome!!! I will be using this in commercial cooking applications and if it doesn't hold up I will update. Otherwise it's the real deal.

i had ordered 3 enamel coated (inside and out) cast iron pans. the company provided 3 'free' silicone handle covers. they don't fit and can slip off when you pick up the heavy pans...very dangerous. but the idea is good. i cut and trimmed the silicone handle covers (razor blade) and then used this tape to wrap the silicone handles very tightly to the proper shape of the extremely hot handles (handles cold when i did this). it worked well. i put the tape over the trimmed silicone handles and around the small space between the silicone handle cover and the pan to where the cover did not reach. the temp capability of this tape ensures an extra layer of protection and keeps the handle from slipping.

Used to wrap the service entrance cable coming into the electric meter...the original insulation had degraded and dissolved over time. Looks great and is rated to 8,000 volts!

Was relatively easy to use. By nature, it's a little troublesome to use as it wants to adhere to itself. THat said, it should adhere to itself. One just has to learn how to work with it.Time will tell as to longevity of the product, but it appears good at this moment.

Easy to apply, works well for our application.

All the reviews claiming this does not stick - they are not stretching it out first. If you keep it tight while wrapping it around the cable (or whatever you want to wrap), it sticks very strongly to itself. Imagine stretching something like an ACE bandage and you will get the right result. It does not just "stick" to itself either - it is hard to describe, but it really seems to "bond" to itself and create a thick continuous wrap. Even though it bonds to itself, it does not leave behind sticky residue.It does not create any gummy goo like some kinds of these weatherproof cable wraps. It removes extremely cleanly with just a knife. Of course that was just testing for a few days - time will tell how it holds up over years.

I ended up returning this product. The tape wouldn't stick to itself. And, without that, it's just a long piece of silicone that unwraps as soon as you let go of it. There is one side that has a plastic strip that needs to be removed. Presumably that's to help make things stick. But nothing I tried would keep the tape where I wanted it.Other people seem to be happy with this so maybe I just got a bad batch. Or, I don't understand how tape works. Luckily, I had something similar from a previous project so I was able to finish my project.

I purchased this for an unusual wall oven bottom element repair job. I'm a DIY'er and this made sense to insulate the contacts between the disconnects and the heating element. Easy to use and just hopes it works.Fixed the oven and then made two frozen pizzas. They tasted like cardboard, meaning mission accomplished!
