GREAT FOR SMALLER ITEMS/SINGLE HOUSEHOLD/STUDENTS
A great heater, gets really hot and does dry the clothes. It suits smaller items, underwear, small towels, etc as its not really big enough to hold several larger items such as bath towels. Also, to get each item thoroughly dry, they have to be moved around several items and left in order to get the full benefit of the individual heated bars, as it only seems to dry the items where they rest on the bars. Otherwise, a great economical dryer, very practical for small spaces.

I'd recommend
Well I put a wet t-shirt on it before bed at 10 pm, got up at 7 am and t-shirt was certainly dry enough to wear, little bit of damp around the arm seams but that's all. So would I say it does what it is supposed to? Yes I would. Though I only tried it out with one t-shirt, maybe if the racks were all full, it may take a while longer. So as an emergency must get it dry for the morning and can't be tumble dried thing, then this is ideal. I can see this becoming invaluable in the future as the kids buy more and more clothes that can't be tumble dried. It's a very gentle way of drying, you can touch the rack rods, they are hot (ish) not enough to hurt.

Good Airer
Dont know what people are complaining about. You cant really expect tumble dryer results. Use it for my weekly washing where there are two items of clothing per bar. The part of clothing that is in touch with the bars do dry out within hours- so you have to kinda move them about if you want fast results. Usually, I just leave them be and the clothes are usually completely dry after 2-3 days (turn bulky items like jeans and cardigans after day 1). The bars do get very hot, but not hot enough to start a fire or damage clothing. Havent noticed my electric bill spiking up, so guess it doesnt consume that much electricity.

Present for my son in student accommodation
I chose this as it said it was compact and could be folded away when not in use. I sent it to my son as he is at University, living in a small room in student accommodation with limited space. He said it is excellent and dries his clothes and bed linen well without taking up too much room. Means he doesn't have to use the tumble dryer in the basement now which is expensive and a time consuming job for him, as he's on the 6th floor! Very happy with my purchase for him and he's delighted.

Avoid this product!
Re 'Good Selections Folding Electric Clothes Airer' available for eBinary (through Amazon). Although I received an electric airer, it didn't match the photo or the description on the website. IS THIS ALLOWED OR DO YOU AGREE IT'S UNFAIR? The dryer was a different size, very unstable (legs opened out like vertical table legs and didn't cross over as in photo), poorly made, and very flimsy. I didn't think the plastic bits on it would last more than a month. I didn't even try the electric heater part of it as THE INSTRUCTIONS THAT CAME WITH IT SAID THAT IT MUST NOT BE LEFT UNATTENDED WHEN IN USE! Isn't that just ridiculously impractical? Surely it makes this item unfit for purpose? I had presumed (from photo and description)that it would be identical to one I had bought several years ago from a different company, so I was very disappointed. The only good thing about it was that the company took it back and refunded the full cost, and by contacting them first and being quite assertive I was able to avoid paying return postage.Needless to say I sent them a detailed letter of complaint too. I now find several firms using exactly the same photo and description, but I'm wondering how many of them will be trying to get away with selling an inferior product. It's put me off buying anything online. Fred
