I purchased this after being advised to use a forstner with MDF.The cutting edge is nice and sharp, so this goes through MDF better than a traditional hole cutter, but because pretty much the entire width is cutting, there was a bit of lateral movement, so I ended up with holes larger than 60mm.I think this would be better to use with a vice and bench drill, but be careful with a hand drill, you might not get the result you wanted.

Vicious drill bit that I stopped using as I feared an inevitable injury looming. There is a recommended speed of use which was impossible to control and the bit was jumping all over the place.

Thought this would do the job but drilling into softwood at any speed was a nightmare. Couldnt control it well at all and resulted in my 70mm dia hole being somewhat larger :(Used similar before without issue, maybe not sharp enough? Who knows, returned to Amazon

This bit just didn’t work for me, wanted to drill holes into softwood sleepers but it wouldn’t grip, so useless for the job.

Awful.. unbalanced and jumps all over the place. If you need some hardcore for a future concrete base, Chuck this in too.

Works perfectly.Nice sharp tool and although only used on soft wood has maintained its sharpness

Absolutely crap item. The little stumpy point in the middle isn't substantial enough to get a bite. The timber is destroyed as it jumps around. I tried it out first on this off cut and as you can see from the photo it makes a mess I would not recommend this item at all. Get something with a much bigger pilot.
