Seems inferior to Mavea on several levels
This may be a good match for an Aqua system, but it claims to fit Mavea but doesn't give a snug fit. If you look at them side by side, they are not the exact same size and shape.Concerns:* As others have noted, based on your Mavea model, you're probably going to end up with a pool of water that doesn't seem to pass through the filter.* The water quality doesn't seem to be noticeably better than Mavea.* While the Mavea monitors filter replacement based on actual use, this simply tells you to get an app that sends you a reminder after 2 months have passed. If you have a family of 6 versus a family of 2, this can't be very accurate.* The Mavea filters are made in Germany; the Aqua filters are made in China.* You can ship your used Mavea filters back to the company for free and they'll recycle them. I can't find any similar claims for Aqua. The Aqua filters state that they have "been tested by WQA to NSF42 for material requirements only." I'm not even sure what that means---the plastic on the filters is suitable vs. the filtering process itself? In contrast, the Mavea filters say they have been certified "for the reduction of heavy metals," etc.I plan to stick with Mavea moving forward.

Great filter but with some considerations
Everyone's taste is different, and whether or not the Aqua Evolve Filter is right for you will depend on what you are looking for. There are some trade-offs. I've compared water made with the Aqua Evolve filter, the Mavea filter and tap water. Hopefully the information will help you decide based on what's important to you.Ease of use: I have been using the Aqua Evolve filter with my Mavea Elaris pitcher. The Aqua filter is a bit taller but fits the Mavea pitcher without issue. The Aqua filter must be soaked first, then rinsed under running water for one minute, then the first two pitchers must be thrown out. This is pretty standard for water filters. The Mavea filter does not require soaking or a full minute flush. The Aqua filter does filter water slightly faster than most brands. None of these factors matter to me, but they may to you in making your decision.Taste: there is a definite difference between brands. Water from the Aqua Evolve filter is is so much better than tap water, but it has a slightly sharp, metallic taste. The literature states that the Aqua filter "reduces" contaminants but purposely lets certain "beneficial" minerals such as potassium, magnesium, and fluoride through. That may be what I am tasting. There is no chlorine smell. I can't tell the difference in cooking or making coffee or tea though. It is a great improvement over my tap water. Water from the Mavea filter has no taste, just clean and wet. I guess you could say it tastes neutral. Since I've never really liked drinking water, this is a big factor for me.Clarity: while both filtered waters look perfectly clear side by side, I noticed a huge difference when making ice. We go through a lot of ice, mostly 2" spheres. Tap water produces cloudy, smelly ice. Using the Mavea filter the ice is cloudy throughout and has an odd aftertaste as it melts. However, the Aqua filter makes spheres that are perfectly clear except for the core, which looks likes like a giant crystal, and there's no aftertaste. Perhaps the Aqua brand filters remove the most contaminants and sediment.Longevity: the Aqua Evolve filter is rated to last two months, but this is based simply on calendar days, not individual water usage or quality. This is totally unreliable since water quality varies from place to place as does usage. A filter may actually be good longer or shorter than 60 calendar days. There is an app that you can download that will remind you when the time is up, but you can set the reminder yourself using the calendar on you smartphone - so it's basically useless. In comparison, at my house, the Mavea filter lasts about a month. This is based on readings from a digital sensor that keeps track of the actual amount and quality of water filtered. I find this comforting. Conclusion: your results may differ based on your water supply and the minerals it may contain, especially those which the Aqua Evolve filter purposely lets through. I can get used to the taste of water from the Aqua filter, mainly because I like the appearance of the ice, it is a larger filter, and I like the fact that the fluoride in our water supply gets through. However, I do like the neutral taste of Mavea filtered water and the real time digital filter monitor. Your final choice will be based on what's most important to you.

Leaks When Using Mavea Pitcher
I was disappointed when my Mavea water pitcher started leaking with this filter. The Aqua Optima Evolve is taller than the Mavea filter slot, and this caused leakage in my pitcher. Since the water is BELOW the top of the filter, it sits inside the reservoir and will not drain. When I pour from my Mavea pitcher into my tea kettle, water spills down the side of the pitcher and makes a mess on the counter. In terms of function, this does not fit the Mavea as advertised. In terms of taste, the water tastes pure and without the bitterness or chemical flavor of some water filter products. I have included photos for comparison. You will notice the distinct height difference between the Mavea filter and the Aqua Optima Evolve Filter. Also, another reviewer said her Aqua filter is made in China. I looked on the packaging of the Aqua Otima Evolve which I received from Amazon and the product is marked "British Technology and Design" and the manufacturer address listed is "British Isles."

Better than the original?
What did I need? A filter to replace the filter in my Tassimo.Did this filter fit the bill? Yes, this filter was compatible with my Tassimo and I couldn't notice any particular difference in performance. Neither filter left black sediment in the bottom of the water reservoir and the flavor of my coffee wasn't impacted for the worse (or better).Would I recommend this filter? Considering that the Mavea brand filters are $5-$6 while this is $8, doesn't work with Mavea pitcher replacement meter, and doesn't have a recycling program it really is hard to recommend it over the original considering performance appeared similar.Notes about the app:The filter app is purely based on time, yet the filter is rated at gallons OR time. It has no way of knowing how many gallons you've used so it simply says "time's up". Ok, if you're only worried about letting too much time expire between changes. Additionally, the app will let you know where to buy more filters, if you live in the UK. The rest of us get a list of distributors. Oh, but they've been generous enough to make the app ad free, so says the app description.
