Buffered Ascorbic Acid capsules contains vitamin C as calcium ascorbate, magnesium ascorbate, and potassium ascorbate sourced in the US. The capsules contains ascorbyl palmitate sourced from China, and the powder does not contain any ascorbyl palmitate. As with all raw materials, each batch of ingredients received by Pure Encapsulations is tested upon reception for identity, potency (if applicable) and contaminants, which can include heavy metals, residual solvents, allergens, pesticide residues and others depending on ingredient and level of risk.

what is the source of this vitamin C?

The vitamin C is sourced from corn dextrose fermentation. This process starts with isolating dextrose from corn, which is then fed to micro-organisms. The micro-organisms produce these nutrients, and the nutrients are then isolated and purified away from the starting materials. While no corn proteins or sugar remain in the final product (and we have tested with negative results), we do not routinely test for corn allergens and therefore we would not be able to guarantee its safety for someone with a corn allergy.

Does pure make a vitamin C thousand milligrams buffered?

Pure Encapsulations - Buffered Ascorbic Acid Capsules only comes with 670 mg of buffered C. Pure Encapsulations also provides Ascorbic Acid 1 gram that is 1,000 mg but it is not buffered.

Is it made from fermented corn?

It's made of calcium ascorbate, magnesium ascorbate and potassium ascorbate. I didn't see corn on the label. I use Pure Encapsulations for most my supplements because of their high quality ingredients.
