Checked the pile of HDMI cables I've acquired.
This meter works like a charm for testing HDMI cables. I've checked all my "free" cables, found 1 questionable cable that I had to wiggle at both connections to get a good test. Now I need to test the installed cables, I've got 5 of them that go thru a powered splitter in my motorhome and will have to unplug them and test one at a time. The 4 Star rating is only because the unit is listed as needing a 9volt battery. Popped the cover and surprise there is already a battery installed. May have been a returned item, don't know. It's clean and everything looks new. Definitely recommend this tester for anyone installing HDMI cables.Wished the instructions had mentioned that HDMI cables with networks have 4 wires that will not test due to being crossed from plug to plug. One down side -- unit made in China.

Long run not good.
Doesn't work on 50 foot HDMI cable. Had two rolls from different companies and couldn't function on either. OK on short lengths.
