Quality product
This sealant is excellent. Cure time gives plenty of work time while fast enough to get back on the water quickly. Being in a tube makes easy to dispense and spread. It stands up to weather and vibration great. The adhesion is great and has held strong not had a single drop of water get by. Cleanup is easy if you do it right away. Great value in sealants.

Great product
I have used this product before and it is great. One thing that drives me crazy is when you order these and they are over 18 months past the expiration date, the one I got was well within that, so I was happy. I use the 4200 if I think I may have to remove the item in the future, if I never want it to come lose I use the 5200.

A bit pricey, but the king of marine sealants
This product is very popular among boaters as it has been tested and proven over the years. Before ordering, you should be aware that 3M makes this, the 4200, as a sealant that can eventually be removed if needed. They also make 5200 which is intended to bond permanently, as in prepare to be destructive if you need to undo the bond. So, with that said, think of 4200 as a super high quality marine version of bathroom caulk/adhesive sealant. With that in mind, use it for all leaks and repairs with the knowledge that if you ever have to "undo" anything, you can. And keep the 5200 in mind when you really, really, really want to bond something for life.4200 is obviously more expensive than traditional bathroom caulks, but you are paying for 3M's years of testing and research, as well as years of testing in the field by boaters around the world. This product has a great, well-earned reputation as a no-nonsense sealant. I bought a tube to fix a leak on the flybridge of my boat, and of course once applied, my leak is no more. Just be sure to clean the area well, with acetone, before applying (as you should with any sealant).

have not used it, but ....
yep, I have not used it because I ordered it as a mistaken. Anyway, I took it out and inspected it anyway. Packing is great, in a big card box with lot of insulation. The tube itself has no damage. Inside the tube, looking at the bottom is clean, no imperfect there (I usually see little dent and caulk/silicone weep out at this area)

You will be glad you chose this over bubble gum when you are out on the water !!
This stuff is great when you need to seal a hole in your boat. It is thick and tacky enough to hold a gasket in place while you mount it, isn't too runny and seals as a non-brittle but strong bond so it wont crack later. Buy this when you need it don't expect it to last long after you open the cap and use it. It is a fair price to pay when sealing areas you need to keep water out below your boats water line ( if you think this is expensive look into the 2 part fusor products used in the transportation industry). If you want to keep extra around I suggest buying a spare tube to keep unopened. A tip for those worried about "blowing the tip off" cut a large enough hole for the product to flow through...its thick and tacky, also use firm even pressure do not try and get it all out at once. If you have to you can place the tube in a bowl of hot water to soften the Adhesive and make it more fluid and easier to squeeze out. I used this for quite a few projects, recently I mounted a rod holder with it to protect the boats paint, and used it when I installed my livewell aerator, I also sealed a hole in the plastic liner of my beer fridge and to patch a gouge in a linoleum floor. I have been able to clean and re-use my last tube many times just by cleaning the threads after each use removing the applicator and punching a nail backwards down the tip. Fair winds and tight lines !
