Skinomi Brushed Steel Full Body Skin Compatible with Microsoft Surface Pro 2 (Full Coverage) TechSkin with Anti-Bubble Clear Film Screen Protector

After a few uses, I noticed some light scratches on the back of the kickstand. I did not want to add any bulk to the device, so I decided to try this skin from Skinomi. The skin is awesome as it adds a more refined look to the Surface and protects it without adding bulk.Setup was quite easy:1) Make sure to unplug and shut down the Surface completely2) Clean the device with a safe liquid solution and wipe down so there is no lint/debris3) Peel the skin and apply it to the Surface (front, back, sides, etc).4) Take a hair dryer (my wife has several for some odd reason...) and hover about 3-4 inches above the Surface for a few minutes. You will see the skin shift a bit, simply use a the provided card to align and clear any small bubbles5) Let it sit for several hours to cool6) Use your Surface device without worrying about scratching it!I didn't use the screen protector it came with as I had already applied one. Going through this skin application process had no impact on the screen protector I installed.I have used the device with the skin now for about a week or so. It still looks great and provides a little more grip for the device. I highly recommend trying the skin as an alternative to a case.Other thoughts:My one concern is removing the skin. I hope I can simply apply heat again and slowly peel it off.

Like it so much I purchased it again when I upgraded to a Surface Pro 2. The brush steel finish really does look and feel metallic. It isn't bulky or heavy, but feels much more durable than your typical skin. All pieces fit very precisely (although when you line them up on your device they appear to seem very slightly small--this allows for a little expansion as they do "stretch" a bit over your device). Installation is very simple, although the directions are a bit lacking--they do direct you to a video online, however. I put this on my device the first day, and it has really held up well--no obvious wear and tear, and it's over a month old (my older device is a year old, and it still has the original skin, which looks just as perfect). This does come with a screen protector on which I can't comment as I prefer to use Zagg invisibleSHIELDs. Would definitely (and did!!!) buy again.

Really nice looking skin that looks and feels like real metal once installed. Instructions for putting skin on tells you to do it dry but I found it much easier to do a wet installation. The adhesive is almost to good making dry install difficult. I would consider this item to be a permanent installation. I'm guessing removal would remove paint also though heat would probably help. Clear screen protector is done wet per instructions. I was a little leery after bad experiences with Invisible Shield but was pleasantly surprised. Though not as smooth as the tempered glass protectors I put on most devices now, its still much better than other vinyl screen protectors I've tried. No noticeable orange peel effect and it does not seem to attract fingerprints. Time will tell I guess. There was a weird sparkle effect when I first put it on but it had disappeared by morning and is perfectly clear now. Well done and half the price of the competition.

Despite the limitation of such vinyl skins, this product's texture looks as close to a real piece of rushed metal. I agree with pretty much all other reviewers' opinions, with one addition.If you have a power cover (the one with battery in it) for your Surface, this brushed metal TechSkin is a good choice because it blend better with the Grey color of the Cover. I was undecided between the Brushed Metal and the other offers from TechSkin series, but glad I chose Brushed Metal because I presumed that it will blend better with the Grey-ness of the power cover. And it did.

I got this skin for SP2 because I was seeing some scuffs on the plastic from everyday use.I'd never applied a skin or screen protector before, but the instructions were clear and the videos on the website helped a lot.It fit just right, nobody at work could tell that I put "a sticker" on my Surface Pro. It looks really good.I'd definitely recommend this.

I loved the idea of having something on my Surface Pro that would protect it without adding extra weight, while also looking really cool, so I was either going to get this one or the carbon fiber. I decided on this one. I really like how it looks, and it feels really nice. Here's the problems, though. It's very stretchy. If you screw up while putting it on (which you will do), and have to peel it off, it stretches. I ended up having to cut the edges because of this. Second, it's very difficult to align. Finally, the corners do not stick, no matter how hard you try. This annoyed me the most. I ended up removing it less than a month of owning it..

Looks great, easy to install, arrived quickly. I also have the carbon fiber texture skin on another Surface Pro and found this one (stainless steel) to be a bit thinner material that took some extra effort to line up and install smooth.

Wet the skin with the provided spray rather than placing it straight onto the tablet and all goes smoothly. Not tested the warrenty but if they stick to it, it should justify the high price.I would purchase again.
