CATFootwear Men's Salvo 8" Waterproof Steel Toe Thinsulate Work Boot

Hands down the best boots I have ever had thus far.
I’ve worn countless pairs of boots from Walmart, I’ve worn countless quality military surplus, and I’ve even worn Timberlands, and they all pale in comparison to these Caterpillars. These boots are the most comfortable I have owned. They are the most durable I have owned. They are supportive and protective. They look great. They are satisfactorily water proof and plenty warm for intense northern Maine winters. I would very happily buy these boots again. After about two years of nearly daily wear, they are finally coming due for replacement. The soles still have plenty of life left to give. They are still warm and still fit great. They still have the original laces! The only problem that has arisen has been the seam where the steel-toecap joins the boot on the side busting, and the water-proofing finally failing. Completely acceptable wear and damage for the amount of time I’ve had them. For reference, I am an outdoorsman and a mechanic. They’ve taken all the abuse I can reasonably throw at them. Five/five stars. My only wish is that Caterpillar would send me another pair!

Worth the money , comfort, longevity, safety, build, and pricing
So I own about 5 pairs of these. I am a plumber and excavate sewers mainly but I also do service work and also install hvac. I miss my carnharts that is discontinued but ran across these. Waterproof for about 45 mins you can stand in water before it starts to wick. But I'm talking ankle high standing in a ditch. Not where you can feel the water in boots but that some what damp feeling on socks. But besides that it's great. I dont recomend the normal ones witch I usually get these I had to go wide on but fits normal. Shoe strings did deteriorate on me on 2 pairs but I'm putting them in some stuff conditions wet then dry back and forth . But when I do service I have a pair that is perfect . Soles stay on, leather riped on still too after about 6 months of heavy duty work . But everyday regular service I would say 1 2 years out of them. I say that due to the heels. When I wal I get a 45degree arch lol but that's from reg wear and tear and the way i walk. Cant go wrong with this price. If you guys like the timberland pros these are better. Cheaper and less weight . I feel better waterproofing also. So my choice will be redwings cats carhart for heavy duty in the ditch mud shoveling out door work . Service i would recommend these but if you walk alot maybe composit toe and lighter weight.

An excellent pair of boots. Worth the money.
This is a well made boot. They are quite snug (10m) but wear very well. I have not had a chance to check the waterproof quality, but I expect good results. I don't think you could go wrong with them.Update:These boots are still going strong. The soles are showing very little signs of wear and the waterproofing is still good.

Very sturdy boot, comfortable, waterproof. Fits well right out of the box. No break in needed.
I like it’s durability. It lasts over a year in working in hot asphalt, oily conditions. It resists heat well. As long as this boot is available I won’t buy anything else. This is probably my 12th year wearing this style boot-best guess

Well made, comfortable, long lasting.
This is my third pair of Caterpillar 8” Salvo boots. They usually last me about two years. As a Land Surveyor in Florida, I put these boots to the test in nasty swamps, 13 hour days on construction sites, cutting line in thick woods, and LOTS of walking. They come with a removable insole, which I usually remove and toss in my sock drawer and re-insert about 10-12 months later which makes them feel like new again. They are fairly comfortable right out of the box, and only take a few days to break in. I tried a pair of Dr. Martens recently for a change, and was very disappointed when they started falling apart after a few months. I highly recommend the Caterpillar 8” Salvo, and will probably buy another pair soon as a backup.

Comfy boot, great customer service.
TLDR; Comfy, fit nice, thread broke after 2 weeks and they sent me out a new pair no questions asked.Got my boots, fit perfect, felt comfy. The next day I started wearing them to work, and the left one felt amazing, but the right one felt like it needed to be broken in a little (I'm surprised only the right one felt that way). After about a week they felt awesome, kept my feet warm on my way to work early in the morning (and looked good while doing it).2 weeks after they arrived I discovered some of the thread was coming loose. I gave customer service a call and they requested a photo, my size, and my address. Got a new pair a couple of weeks later no questions asked. Now on the weekends when I'm wearing my Adidas, my feet hurt. I love the support these boots and comfy insoles provide.

My dad loves these!
I got my dad these for Christmas. (He’s a garbage disposal roll off driver, so his boots wear down quickly). He wears these daily. They keep his feet warm and dry and also hold up pretty well. I’m sure he’ll be buying these boots or even the brand when it’s due for a new pair!
