Structural Engineer is Pleasantly Surprised
Leaving this review to help others who are on the fence about this product like I was.As a structural engineering grad student, I was skeptical about this at first. I've always used standard bed frames with box springs, but when I moved into a tiny new apartment I had to have some extra storage space under the bed to make things work. I shopped around for a week before I settled on this DuraBed. I've now had the full-sized frame since August and I have to say that I am pleased. Assembly was super quick, and it has held up well to daily use.The full size comes in two pieces which you lay out side-by-side and tighten together using provided bolts. I was worried that I would be able to feel the center support through my mattress, but I have yet to notice it. Granted, my mattress is much stiffer than most, so if you have a very soft mattress that gives a lot when you lie down, it might be noticeable (but barely). On the subject of stiffness, I was worried that this would not feel as solid as my old frame and box spring, but the two are comparable. I don't go jumping up and down on the thing, or plopping down quickly on it (often), but any time I have lied down to go to sleep it feels as solid as any other. I also haven't seen any signs of sagging anywhere yet. As a point of reference, I weigh ~200lb and my girlfriend weighs ~120lb.My only complaint is that it started to squeak after only 3 months of use. I know that this will eventually happen, but 3 months awfully fast. This is nothing that can't be fixed and shouldn't deter you from this option if you, like me, are looking to make the most out of your space.

For the price, a hands down winner
We decided to get rid of our box springs because our bed was so high (box spring, mattress, mattress cover, memory foam layer). Remember the illustration of the princess and the pea? Anyway, we wanted to shave off a few inches off our bed system. When queen quilts hardly reach halfway down the side of the bed; you know it is time. So, we put up our snobby box springs and bed frame on Craigslist for free. As if by magic, it was gone. I thought the local stores that sell this bed platform would have them in stock. This is something I should have researched BEFORE giving away the box springs. My bad. As it turns out, good 'ol Amazon was able to get it delivered before anyone else. Meanwhile, we slept on the floor like in the 60's. With the exception of the disapproving glances from the wife; we survived. In two days we had our Epic Dura bed platform. It shipped in one box. Since we had a queen bed, the box contained two singles that had to be enjoined. The platforms unfolded and locked into place easily. The box contained the wing nuts needed to connect the two platforms into one. This was easily accomplished. The platform is just high enough to allow plastic storage containers to be slid underneath for "hidden storage." This constitutes annex # 3 of the arsenal of shoes my wife has to have. She has gotten too old for those 3" heels but that doesn't stop her from coveting them like a extremely rare Barbie Doll still in its unopened original box. (I digress)I am a big guy (tall and somewhat "husky). My wife is of average weight (I do want to live to see what tomorrow is like) and the bed platform supported us perfectly. No creaks or squeaks. No sagging or evidence of metal fatigue. It is all good. Amazon had the best price and fastest delivery. I need to make a habit of going to Amazon first.

Very nice, very few issues
This bed came in a beat up box. Already i was skeptical, upon opening a few of the metal pieces were either stuck inside of each other or wedged together. Though after just a bit of aggressive persuasion with a hammer i was able to get the bed set up in under 10 minutes. After that, i have no complaints. Its not squeaky at all, at least not for these first few days. doesn't move or shake really at all, very sturdy and feels safer than it looks. Honestly I'm pleased, I would love to blame those issues on something that happened during shipping but either way, the bed frame itself was worth it.Edit: okay well, its been about two weeks of use and its already pretty squeaky. i haven't had any problems but its still early for it to be sounding like a family of mice are under me. That "squeak free steel" in the product description is very misleading but, other than that, its still a solid bed.

Don't Forget the Washers
I'm using this in my guest room along with an air mattress. Have you ever tried to stand up from an air mattress placed on the floor? This platform will solve the problem. Sturdy construction all around with a nice finish. No squeaks. I got a queen size, so it comes in two, twin sized pieces. Each unfolded easily and have positive engagement hinge hardware so they can't accidently re-fold. These were a bit trickey to collapse; you have to push both the left and right side hinge releases at the same time. The trick I found was to wiggle the leg a little while pushing the releases. To join the the two unfolded frames they supply two sets of wing bolts, wing nuts and plastic spacers. They worked OK, but two suggestions here: add a washer to the wing nut side since the nut wings catch on the recessed frame before getting tight, and, replace the hardware set (save the spacer) next time you go by the hardware store. We're talking less then $2 worth of wing nuts and bolts here so do it and you'll be much happier. The collapsed twins slid easily back into the delivery box for storage. As mentioned above, the supplied joining hardware was low quality. I don't know why the manufacturer "went cheap" with junky hardware. Wing nuts should spin easily on the bolt and these were too poorly machined to do that. So it goes. They would have gotten five stars from me otherwise. That aside, I would recommend this product.
