Recommend
Update (4/9/20): I still recommend, but with one caveat. As these types of smocks/bibs go, baby/toddler slips their arms through the sleeves, and there's velcro at the back of the neck to make the smock stay on. Ordered three more of these (in various prints). Unlike the first order where the velcro was sewn on, the second more recent order had only adhesive on the velcro backings. So when you wash them, the velcro can come off. To save yourself a headache, wash the smocks in a mesh bag so you don't have to go through all the laundry to find the missing velcro piece. Haha. I stuck the velcro back on and then for good measure, hand-sewed a few stitches (got lazy) or within the perimeter (ok, didn't have time for this after the first one) to secure it. Still holding up well. Just know you might have to sew the velcro on.=====Original review: I'd recommend this.Pros:Washes well (mesh bag, gentle cycle, and air dry)Velcro closure (quick and easy, which is convenient and practical with a wriggly or hangry baby)Despite some of the reviews that said the quality was lacking and the smock threading didn't last, ours seems to be well-made and has lasted months of washing (and still going). I bought several of another brand (starts with B) but those tie at the neck and sometimes our baby doesn't have the patience to wait for us to tie it. So we use this one far more, which means more frequent washing, but still holding up well.It is a bit big on her, but that's ok. There's room to grow into it. And the sleeves have elastic so we pull them up so they don't get in her way.Cons:If there's one con, it's that due to the water resistant nature of the material, it traps heat. So sometimes the baby gets warm and sweaty. Most of the time, this is not an issue.

Just okay
Very thin, but does the job. Basically just a translucent piece of thin plastic, a step up from a (more or less fitted) poncho. Only used it a handful if times and washed it maybe 3x. It held up okay for the first 2 washes (delicate cycle in its own garment bag) but the third time, I accidentally put it in the dryer on low heat for a short time and it looks like it's about to fall apart. (It says hand wash only - well, that wasn't going to happen. Anyone raising a baby without a full-time nanny does not have time to hand wash anything, much less a smock with pockets and lots of nooks and crannies to trap food.) Also discolored from the food. The pocket only rarely actually catches anything but I don't fault the manufacturer for that. Paw Legend seems much better constructed, thicker, and actually a few dollars cheaper. This one did fit my 18 lb baby slightly better, as the Paw Legend ones are bigger, but both are velcro closure and large enough to put over the straps in the high chair, which helps keep them clean. The neck on both brands is too wide and not adjustable, so I have to use a bib on top of it to keep the top of the shirt clean(er). I definitely prefer the other brand, and the styles are cuter, as well.

Get the ones with ties
I purchased the two-pack avocado and ice cream patterns. The ties are much better than the velcro backs since they are more adjustable for our 6mo. We keep one in a Stashers pouch in our diaper backpack and one at home. Cleaning is easy with a quick wipe down, though this may change once we start feeding more solids. After starting with plastic bibs with the little one grabbing for the spoon and smearing oatmeal on her sleeves and collar, we love that these protect her clothes. We haven't needed to use the pouch to catch food yet, so it's tucked under the bib. The avocado design is cute. I didn't look closely at the ice cream design until they arrived. There are faces on the "ice cream" so the pattern could be interpreted either as ice cream or faces wearing cone hats.

Bought it 6/26, Threw Away 9/19
Well this little smock didn't last three months. It was the first smock/ apron I got for my little guy. I liked the fact that it had a velcro fastener instead of a tie. I also really liked the color. It was a bit cheaper (by $1-2) so I grabbed this one up first. After we started feeding the little guy more than one meal a day, we had to get another one, and since the others on this listing were tie fasteners and there were not any patterns jumping out at me, I decided to get a bumbkins for our second apron/smock for the baby.Within the last few weeks this smock started to feel sticky and would stick to itself after being washed. We never put any of our aprons into the dryer, we always have them hang dry. At first I was dealing with it, but then it started to stick together at the arm sections, so I would have to peel it apart and it would be sticky on the inside. Looking at the fabric closely you could see it being stripped away in places, I should have taken a photo of it, but didn't think about doing a review until after I threw it away.Since we purchased this one, we had 2 bumkins, and 1 bapron. I decided to throw this one away this week and grab up another bumbkins smock/apron.

Wish it held up better
I have been using this on my daughter since she was 6 months and she's now one year old and it's always been too big in the neck area. She's pretty petite (about 20th percentile) but now that she's one, I was hoping it would fit better. The velcro circle is small, which I think is part of the problem - doesn't give much size range and now that the product is 6 months old, the velcro doesn't work anymore, so it makes the bib pretty unusable.Love the material - easy to clean and overall love the product, just wish the velcro lasted longer and allowed for a smaller neck hole.
