Great cat harness ... escape proof for my cat!
This "cat jacket" is well made, of sturdy (but non stretchable) material. Our elderly cat had an earlier version that was a little too big for him, but at about 8 lb now, this one fits him perfectly. The closures are velcro, and give quite a bit of flexibility in accommodating neck size, body size/girth, etc, The leash attachment ring is also very sturdy, and will accommodate a sturdy leash clip, as well. And ... if necessary, it's hand washable! Our boy was an escape artist in his younger days ... no harness, and certainly no collar, could keep him contained if he decided he wanted to get away. Until we got the kitty holster, that is ... when properly sized and put on him, he has never been able to escape (and furthermore, he seems to be comforted by the snug fitting jacket style). He happily walks on his leash (he can no longer be an outdoor cat at this stage in his life), and is easy to contain on road trips (he has always been happy with riding in the car, but ... getting him out at stopovers has been dicey at times).Would highly recommend the kitty holster ... it's a bit pricey compared to alternatives, but it actually works as advertised (we've tried several others -- they are cheaper, but don't work nearly as well).

Followed the booklet instructions and have a very happy cat now!
I have two cats, one a gregarious and curious Siamese (Stars), and the other a VERY easily spooked shorthair who probably doesn't have the temperament for this training. I've long suspected Stars would see a quality of life boost from being able to go outside though—she loves following me everywhere and always seeks out new intellectual stimulation. I used to carry her on the porch with me when I'd water my plants, and she'd just sit in my arms, riveted by the wind, birds, and leaves. So I got the Kitty Holster. I was a little worried because Stars has never even worn so much as a collar. I've heard older cats don't take too well to such things.I needn't have worried. This holster was perfectly designed for my cat, and by following the instruction booklet, I've had almost total success after only a few days. Here's what I did!Day one, she meowed at the door (something she does because she already wants to look around outside). I put her in the harness and immediately gave her a favorite can of food. She went flat and stressed for a few minutes. And, she tried backing out of the harness RIGHT away. After about five minutes of constant reassurances with the presence of food letting her know I wasn't punishing her, she settled, though she wasn't happy at all. I took off the harness and made sure she had lots of love.I waited a few days. She started to show signs of wanting to go out again. Right away, I put her in the harness and opened the door. She didn't like the holster still, but she didn't try to escape (I think she assumes she can't after trying and failing the first day). She was so distracted by the call of the unknown outside that she forgot herself for a few minutes, and we sat together in the doorway, just chilling. I gave her a can of food at the same time. She seemed happy to have the harness removed again, but she wasn't near as peeved. The very next day, she started showing signs of wanting to follow me out—and this time, when I got the harness, she actually RAN to me, meowing excitedly. I couldn't believe it. We shared about ten minutes this time sitting in the doorway, and she even ventured onto the doormat. I tried closing the door to keep cat two inside, but Stars saw that as closing her escape route, and immediately began to stress and paw at the door. I opened it back up. She immediately calmed and resumed sitting on the mat. And, she seemed happy enough that she didn't even need food/treats to destress from the experience.Today, I ventured beyond the doormat to show it was safe, leashing her and just waiting. She stretched out, totally relaxed, and then jogged to meet me. We sat in the grass, and it was wonderful. I had to keep my front door open still for most of the time! And she kept beckoning to cat two, who was a little too skittish to want much to do with the experience. Maybe one day, I'll be able to harness her as well, and we can go exploring. But for now, I'm stoked to have my Siamese buddy have something she actively looks forward to every day. I can tell from her behavior that it's probably going to be a few more weeks before she's comfortable leaving the vicinity of the apartment—the booklet is really spot-on about cats' comfort levels in adjusting to new places. But I'm happy to take it slow. Thanks Kitty Holster!

Holds Moose tight 😸
The media could not be loaded. I actually returned the S/M harness and ordered an XS.Moose is almost 13lbs and the XS fits him perfectly. The S/M had extra flap hanging. I know it looks like he is completely squished in the video but I assure you, he is not. I can get two fingers under the harness. As you can see he has complete range of motion and when he was startled by the wind, he pulled but the harness actually stopped him. In his last harness, if he got spooked, which usually only happens when he sees a person ( which I keep a close watch for) he would pull and slip out of his harness. It happened twice so we stopped our walks until I found the kitty holster.Pros:The velcro is very strong and holds tightly. I am able the get a very secure fit around the neck which is where they slip out. Cats are liquid. It's also easier to adjust than buckle type harnesses. It's very light weight which must be much more comfortable. It wraps very securely all the way around kitty. Nice strong stitching around metal ring for attaching leash. Very well stitched all the way around. Easily washable.Cons:It takes some time and effort to get it adjusted perfectly, especially with a long haired cat. The velcro adjusts underneath the cat so it's hard to see what your doing. And if your cat is on the large size, trying to keep fat and hair from getting caught in the velcro, it takes some patience. If you do not have a patient cat, this may not work for you. Also, the ripping sound of the velcro is pretty loud. The first time out, it startled him. But, he is pretty brave so he got over it quickly. We all know velcro needs to be kept clean or it looses it's ability to hold. So you will need to be sure to keep the hair cleaned from it to be sure it holds tight. Don't want to loose your kitty. So far we have been on 2 walks with the kitty holster and I feel much more secure taking him out with this harness. Hopefully, we will not have to put it to the tug test. I will update this review if we do.And we did go in after he spooked. He doesn't like wind. He is a very spoiled boy.MEOW!

Great for big cats and vet visits
Hard to find XL sizing so no complaints as it does the job. I expected the quality would be better based on the pricing but it’s just okay. The material is thinner than expected and it’s something you can probably sew in your free time if you’re able to. Still in the midst of harness training so maybe I’ll update later on when I’m actively using it.Edit: used it during a recent vet visit and it was so much easier when it came to giving my cat their yearly vaccines. 10/10

Very secure harness…like a straight jacket but in a good way
First off, it’s really a great harness. It’s incredibly secure. My cat was indoor/outdoor and ran away once and now he only goes outside while in a harness. I was unsure how he would react to a harness for the first time. I wasn’t sure if he was going to try and slip out so I wanted something that seemed really secure. It absolutely is! He hasn’t gotten out of it once. Great part is you don’t have to slip it over their heads. Just Velcro around them and you’re good to go. The Velcro is intense, it takes a bit of pulling to actually get it off which I like. I’ve used this for a while now and the Velcro hasn’t changed, even with it being full of his fur it’s still just a a strong. Only thing is his torso is in line with the measurements but his neck is a bit smaller so you’ll see in the photo I included that I would get this flap that stuck out around his neck. I found some fabric Velcro (no sew) and stuck it on and it works perfectly to hold down the flap. It is definitely restricting for him. Took a bit for him to walk normally, maybe he’s just being dramatic. The neck part goes up realllly high on his neck so I kind of fasten it down wards? When I fasten it downwards the extra Velcro isn’t needed. When fasted properly, it is needed. You can see in one of the photos there, so that he’s got more room and isn’t so constricted. Or else the neck part goes right up to his chin. He’s still super secure like that. He hasn’t been able to get out of it even when he chased a bunny in our backyard. Also he is I really big Tom cat, not fat just big! Like 18lbs big and I got the med/large size.

Sicherheit .
Absolut perfekter Sitz.

He loves it!
I had purchased a few harness’s for my cat. He hated all of them. Always had a struggle to get them on and when it was on he’d flop to the floor and wouldn’t move. Very unhappy kitty. This harness was a different story. He let me put it on, it looks more comfortable for him. And as soon as I get it out he runs over excited and ready to go for a walk. It’s a secure harness and it doesn’t pull round his throat. We are both really happy with the purchase
