Bioda Professional Strength Drain Cleaner, Septic Safe, 1 Gallon

I've been dealing with a funky smell coming from the drain for months. I've tried quite a few methods to make it go away. Had the septic tank pumped and hosed out. Totally not kidding. It's pretty funky. Standard drain-o kind of products (plumber says don't bother, they don't work). Snaking drains. Bleach cleaners. Baking soda and vinegar. Even got a long snakey brush thingy to scrub the pipes. Next day the funk is back. Super frustrating. Watched a bunch of videos and most say something similar. Try all the methods above and if they fail, could be something more ominous, so call a plumber. Ok did that. When I talked to my go to plumber about it he said to get something like this product.In comes Bioda. Awesome. Delivered same day between 5 and 10 PM. Whoot! Man I tell ya, I really wasn't expecting a positive result. Half a cup down the shower drain. Put a little down the sink drain and tub drain for good measure. Lo and behold, no funk. And just to be sure, I've been putting a half cup down the drain, as per the directions for a super funky drain, for the last few days. I am gleefully reporting that there is no longer a bad odor. May be premature but the preliminary results are encouraging. The drain smells good and is flowing fast. I'm kicking myself for not doing it sooner. Can't get much easier. Not sure I want to know what kind of miracle is happening down in my pipes with this stuff, but I am very pleased with this product. I'd totally buy it again and give it this highest recommendation, although I did get a gallon, and you only need a half cup per week for maintenance (per the instructions). So it's way cheaper than a plumber and considering the excellent result for a half cup (32 uses per gallon - about .85 cents per use), couldn't be happier. Loving my shower again.

I have been dealing with sewer odor omitting from bathroom sink and tub! Nothing worked and the sickening smell always returned. After reading reviews for BIODA decided to make one last effort before calling plumber to (VERY COSTLY ) dredge drains! After using BIODA once in sink and tub drain the Oder is GONE! By once I’m referring to one day several times. I fully expected the odor to return overnight, amazingly it did not! I will continue to use this product as a maintenance procedure. If ten stars was an option I would shout it out! Fantastic product!

I'm SO skeptical, because it seems every product I buy never works the way the seller says it will, but this product WORKS. I don't know how, just like I'll never know how all knowledge on the planet is in a device in our hands we use every minute of every day now, (cell phones), but it's been two weeks and no sewage-like smell is wafting from any of my drains, especially the kitchen drains, and believe me, I've dumped countless boxes of baking soda and countless gallons of white vinegar down it. Nothing worked. This works.

Worked wonderfully on my shower stall bottom, which is starting to peel and give off a very unpleasant smell. Waiting for an appointment to have the shower reglazed, but in the meantime, this helps with the strange ammonia smell that permeates the shower every time water hits it. The paint is off-gassing and mixing with any bacteria. Constant cleaning with disinfectant doesn't help, but this enzymatic cleanser helps until the shower is wet again.

Moved into a new rental home with a LOT of drain flies in one of the bathrooms. This stuff knocked them out! It's not an over night miracle, you have to use it daily for a couple of weeks, but my problems are all gone! In 1 bathroom, I went through the whole gallon in about 2 weeks, but I was probably using more than I was supposed to. Just bought another for upkeep, but don't feel the need to use it daily any more. Highly recommend!

I have very long thick hair and our bathtub gets clogged about twice a year badly enough to need a plumber. I researched before I bought this but I was skeptical. Our drain was clogged enough that it could take about a half hour to drain after a shower. I figured I’d try it.The instructions say about a half cup overnight, but it also says multiple applications might be required. After a half cup there was a VERY slight improvement. I used about a full cup the next night.The next morning there was still backup, but I did this thing I call a “manual plunge” meaning I cup my hand over the drain and push and pull my palm for suction. I felt movement, much more movement than before.I did one more application with a larger amount of the stuff, maybe 2 cups. I left it overnight.Our drain is clear. The bathtub is clean. The water whirlpools going down the drain and there’s no backup at all.They say to maybe pour a half cup down once a month to avoid further problems. I’ll be doing that.To be fair there was a slight, (VERY SLIGHT) odor as the stuff did its work. Nothing that required a fan or window.And my drain is clear now. Hallelujah.

I used Bioda Professional Strength Enzyme Drain Cleaner mainly to deal with drain odor, and it does a decent job eliminating unpleasant smells. After treatment, the sink smelled noticeably fresher, and it seems safe enough for regular maintenance and septic systems.However, I didn’t notice any real improvement in water drainage. If you’re expecting it to clear slow drains or remove buildup significantly, the results may be limited. It works better as an odor eliminator than a drain unclogger.Because it handles smells but doesn’t noticeably improve water flow, I’d rate it 3 stars. It’s useful for maintenance, but not a strong solution for drainage issues.

Oh my gosh! I evaluated this product for so long before I finally purchased it and wished I had done so sooner. After one use in my stinky shower months ago, the odor went away and has stayed away. It helped with built up lime as well. I'll be buying this regularly.
