The housing and body of the light including the hinge is aluminum. The clip used to attach to uniform/hat is plastic.

Can this light be turned on/off in Red mode only without having to cycle through a white mode?

no it cycles through white first then red

Can the light be "on" while plugged into usb power and charging? and if yes, will it stay on (bypassing the 20 minute "auto-off" feature)? thanks.
