Easy to apply worktop sealer and finish
I hadn't used this product before so it was a bit of a gamble using it to finish a large oak kitchen worktop area. The worktop requires thorough preparation, sanding and removing stains and scratches. Also I recommend using a vacuum cleaner and tack cloths to remove all dust before application. Stir the product well and apply at least three coats, allowing to fully dry and lightly sand between coats. Product is recoat-dry in 5 to 8 hours. Produces lovely satin finish.

Pricey but worth it
Used this on parquay flooring where the original varnish had become orange.Hired a sander & edger and used 80/120 grit over the whole floor (Took a day for 14meter squared).Once the floor had been hoovered and mopped of sawdust, we found that pouring this into a paint tray and using a lint free dishcloth to apply was easiest. We applied in circular motions (much like you would a wax) which helped to keep the layers thin. The 1st coat was hard work, but after 12hours it was dry enough to apply the 2nd coat.We left that to dry for 24hours before we had to put the furniture back in.We used almost 2 tins48hours drying time would have been more ideal as the floor was slightly sticky in some places but we put felt on the furniture legs to reduce any scrapes. This wax oil allowed the natural colour of the wood to come through and is extremely hard wearing. Would use again

Easy
I have used this on several projects with "raw" wooden surfaces (oak worktops, tables etc). It is very good, easy to apply and covers well. I've used both a brush and a cloth dipped in the oil.It is easy to apply and dries overnight in suitable temperatures - if it is cold the oil will gel up and take time to cure (unheated garden office where I used it to treat a table). Environmental temps were approx 8C. Raising temp cured the problem (no pun intended)Worktops are in kitchen and bathroom and both have held up well - except to "slime" left on the surface (kids toy slime stuff, but what else does even?)

Expensive but worth every penny
Like others I read dozens if not hundreds of reviews before holding my breath and paying the steep price for this product and I'm so glad I did.I bought this oil to use on 9 oak veneer doors, I also bought the Osmo brush and brush cleaner. The oil went on so easily, super easy to apply thinly with a brush, so far I've done 4 doors, took me about 20 minutes for each door to ensure I got in all the grooves. The finish is stunning after just one coat and whilst there is some darkening on the first coat this does not increase with subsequent coats. This is especially good if you happen to miss a spot on the first coat, you can catch it on the second coat and it will blend in perfectly. My skirting and stairs are oak that were lacquered at the factory before fitting so I was a bit worried about uniformity but thanks to this oil the doors look to have the same finish. If I wanted to be really fussy I could have used some super fine sand paper to get the doors smoother before oiling them but I don't feel there was any need. The 4 doors dried overnight and I've done a second coat and I still have more than half the tin left so I'd estimate you can do two coats on about 10/11 doors. This product is definitely worth the price if you want a good finish, I've used the satin finish 2.5l tin.I would also recommend the Osmo brush which doesn't suffer from bristle loss. I will be adding photos once I have finished but felt I had to get on here and rave an out how fantastic this product is, I'm so happy with the finish and can't wait to do the remaining doors.Stop looking and buy it, to I won't regret it.

For these types of wood we recommend Wood Wax Finish Extra Thin for interior use
I have a pine floor - most of the reviews here, where they specify, are about oak floors. I've not used it yet but here's some information from the Osmo website which I will take into account:About curing:Polyx®-Oils have a curing time of approx. 10-14 days. During this time, we advise you to keep floor traffic to a minimum and to avoid covering the wood's surface as this will block the circulation of air, which can cause the surface to discolour.Extended drying times can be caused from slow penetration of oil into the wood. There are several possible reasons why this could happen:Over application - there is a limit to the amount of oil that the wood can absorb, excess application can cause the oil to dry on the surface - which can create a sticky or tacky surface. Remedy: allow for extra ventilation to enable the drying, or remove excess with cloth.Existing treatments on the surface - previous varnishes or other treatments can block the absorption of oil into the wood. Please refer to our advice regarding wood preparation. Remedy: sanding and re-application.Unsuitable product for the wood - exotic hardwoods such as Teak, Iroko, Idigbo, Cedar etc. have a high natural oil content, and application of further oil can be problematic if an unsuitable product has been applied. For these types of wood we recommend Wood Wax Finish Extra Thin for interior use, or for exterior use we recommend to allow exposure to elements for at least 3 months prior to application, any exterior product would then be suitable.
