Best Little Portable Water Heater on the market
This is an amazing little unit, lightweight, easy set up and worked flawlessly. There was some adjustments required on the dials to get the maximum heat to flow, but this take about two minutes to find the fastest flow you can use to get the type of heat you need on the water. The slower the flow, the hotter the output water is which totally makes sense. For my application which is heating hot water for cooking and cleaning dishes for a large high school service group camping trip, I think I will be purchasing a second unit to preheat the water and use the second unit to heat the water hotter at a higher flow. A larger model is available as well, but the overall concept of virtually unlimited hot water in a remote place is wonderful concept, I highly recommend. Lastly I used this unit for about 4 hours a day for 5 days straight and it used about 1-2 gallons of propane which I think is highly efficient!

Love my new shower
I bought this unit to make a shower out of to use for camping on fishing trips and when I set it up, you must make sure you are pumping no more than 2 gallon per minute or you will have trouble with the adjustments Use a 5 gallon water bucket to test & time your water flow. I used a Flo-Jet RV-Pump and put a RV water reducer on to the hose going into the L7-Tankless Water Heater to get that 2 gallons per minute flow and use rechargeable batteries for the igniter. I mounted everything on a hand truck to make it simple with a 10 gallon water tank I got off of Ebay. It felt so good to shower, I did use 5 gallons for my shower and that was my fault for that and we used it to rinse the dishes too and made marks on the adjustments for shower and dishes to make quick settings, just set it and forget it. The shower head did start leaking and I called Eccotemp and they sent another replacement right out and it worked fine. But any shower head will fit it. A lot of people were very interested in my set up at the camp ground we went too and I really love it and I'm glad I bought this model that has a lot of good features and the Eccotemp company are nice people to work with if you have a problem with anything. I highly recommend this unit for your hot water demand.

Does not work at altitude
We tried to use this at our property that is 7250' ASL. The flame sensor wouldn't recognize that there was a flame and would constantly turn off the device. It WOULD start and ignite when "noticing" water flow; however, after a few seconds, the igniter would try again and then shut off the fuel. This happened ON TWO SEPARATE L7's. I would NOT recommend this product for high-altitude use.

Listen to the Reviews
I am returning this back to Amazon today. Just got it yesterday. I connected it like the directions say. Made sure had good pressure coming from garden hose, had new propane tank, new batteries, no water leak anywhere, but still the burner kept turning off. If I turned off the shower head and then on, the igniter would start and lite the burner, but then 10 seconds later it would turn off, then randomly turn on. This L7, I must say is very disappointing. I should have listened to the reviews.. I was looking for something bigger than the L5, but the L10 is nearly $100 more. It does have better ratings. I might try it. The only good thing about this product is the Amazon return policy. Thanks Amazon.

I should have trusted all the other bad reviews.
Keeps flaming out during use even in no-wind situations. Have tried everything the company said to. I should have trusted all the other bad reviews.

Unreliable 👎👎👎
Totally Unreliable! You never know when the burners igoing to shut down. It may give you hot water for 60 seconds or 20 min. Turning off the tap to reset and restart the unit is not always successful. Not impressed with customer service either. They expect you to open up the unit to verify electrical connections and to fine tune/adjust the flow sensor. Come on it should work right out of the box. Just hook up & go. Unfortunately it falls woefully short in actual real world performance. It appears to be just another sub standard product.

Do not install in a camper!
I got this for my camper. Unfortunately, the camper / shower head water lines are too small, and you can't flow enough water through the shower head to keep the heater lit. If I remove the shower head, it stays light. The kitchen sink does not flow enough volume for it to light off.

Not MORON proof, read the book, think, and check every VISIBLE connection before installing batteries
Bought it used/defective NOT on warranty. Make sure you check for leaks BEFORE installing "D" batteries. Use your HANDS to assemble. PLASTIC Stuff breaks. In The past, some leaked at the propane solenoid, (under the cover, "o" ring not installed correctly, two screws and you can fix it easily)the problem has been fixed by now. But STILL check for leaks BEFORE you put the batteries in.ON MINE the Propane connection (on bottom- exposed) had brass coupler with no teflon tape screwed onto aluminum housing of propane soleniod assembly. Flames walked down to that leak anf fried all the wiring. Eccotemp support sent me a totally new wiring harness for less than twenty bucks and the updated shower head. ANY shower head I have used that shuts the water flow completely off is hard to turn on. you are fighting the supply pressure. looking for a left/right push/pin head. There appears to be an overtemp sensor that stops the flame, but I can count on a thirty seven degree increase without it shuttting off if outside is 90 or lower. Wind is not that big a deal. Recommended a gas type shutoff for the shower head line and watching the flame if incoming is COLD.Buy an "O" ring kit, otherwise Very excellent quality, and I figured out and rewired it myself looking at the symbols on the igniter. Used daily by paraplegic, for three months and haven't burnt myself yet. I have bought three units, NONE of the new ones have ever had an issue. Support is great, does what it is designed to do. buy one and see
