"This isn't a book about conquering infertility. This is a book about surviving it." I felt like a babyless freak. No matter what we tried, I couldn’t get pregnant, even after standing on my head after sex. I was pretty sure I was the only woman on the planet going through infertility, certainly the only one jamming needles into my butt on commercial breaks during my favorite TV shows. Everyone was getting pregnant around me and no one was talking about what happened if you couldn’t. After my experience, I wanted to write a book for other infertile women and couples who feel alone, the book I wish I’d had when I was going through it, filled with dark humor and illustrations of quirky ovaries and whimsical sperm. If you’re like me, you want blunt, honest conversations about all the crazy stuff you’re going through with someone who’s been there and understands at least some of what you’re dealing with and how you’re feeling. And if it can somehow give you permission to laugh without diminishing the pain you’re feeling? Even better. This is the funnest book you’ll ever read about the worst thing that’s ever happened to you. Each chapter covers a different challenge with infertility and is broken into sections, a little of my story and concerns, a blurb from my husband, Alex, kind of a window into his dudely brain, and practical tips on how to cope. Read it yourself, read it as a couple, and if you’re struggling to explain your feelings to friends and family, hurl a copy at them and run away. I really wish you didn’t need this book, but since you do, come on over. You’re not alone . Review: #1 Infertility book! - There were parts I wanted to throw my phone, others I was sobbing. It helped me relate and realize I wasn’t alone. It wasn’t like other that say “your not alone” but actually makes you feel your not alone. The way she shares her story, makes you feel like you have been wrapped up in a blanket of warmth. She shares some very personal experiences here. And I think everyone, EVERYONE, who has a loved one who suffers from pcos or other infertility, or you want to know what your friends or loved ones go through. I encourage everyone to read this. Weather they suffer or not. I can’t not thank her enough for making me laugh, but at the same time cry. You made me feel so understood. Thank you Melanie Dale, for writing this! Review: Great book! - This book was such a comfort while I was in the thick of infertility. It’s comprehensive, has lots of anecdotes, nerdy analogies that I found relatable, and the perfect level of humor. The author is religious but the book isn’t overly so. It’s a quick, easy, enjoyable read. I really enjoyed the authors writing style and all the little drawings and comics within.

I laughed, I cried, I felt heard!! LOVED THIS BOOK!
I couldn’t put this book down!! Melanie covered a multitude of scenarios and even provided some advice on what worked best for her. I laughed, I cried, I simply felt heard and in many ways my emotions felt validated. Infertility is HARD! I felt like I was having my own personal conversation with her. Get yourself a copy. You won’t be disappointed!! Melanie, if you’re reading this. Thank you. Thank you for shedding so much light on a journey that can be so dark and scary. Thank you for making women like us feel heard. My soul needed this!

A great way to explore infertility in a humor way at times
I loved this book. Not only was it informative (not very since that is not the main purpose of the book), but helped to not feel alone in this journey while being able to laugh at some of the things that cause stress.

It’s your best TTC friend in book form
I have been searching for something to simply feel seen and understood. I was so tired of books trying to “fix me”. Thank you I’m under a doctors care and I’m already running myself ragged trying every new something…I’m exhausted. And please stop telling me how baby making works and what’s wrong! I know! How are you helping the situation?! You won’t get that frustration in this book. This book is to support your soul, to make you feel less crazy as your hormones do crazy things, as you wait through you 19 TWW, and while you mourn for the the 20th BFN. Get it! I can’t push it enough. You will find yourself able to laugh on days you did think it would be possible

Real, informative, intuitive and comical
When you're going through infertility, you can often feel very alone in your journey and that no one can relate to what you're feeling or experiencing. This book is raw and real, while also giving you a reason to chuckle at the insanity of what actually happens during infertility - don't forget to look at the images because those were especially funny! Probably the most important lesson I learned was when Mel spoke of hope. It's easy to let yourself put up the armor and protect yourself from crashing... but hoping and dreaming are such an important part of the journey that I have renewed my own sense of hope in an attempt to keep getting up and hold on to my dream of motherhood. Thanks to Alex for a male perspective on infertility struggles too.

Dead on and so relatable.
If you are struggling with the heartbreak of infertility I recommend this book! for the first time I felt like someone else knew exactly what I was feeling in this struggle. Nice touches of humor too. Even if you want to try to understand what it might be like to go through infertility to help a friend or family member cope I recommend this book. It will you give you a peak into the life of what it's like to live with this.

Helped heal open wounds
This book was just the book I was looking for. It felt like the writer picked all the feelings, emotions, and experiences out of my brain and put it on paper for me to read with a great sense of humor to boot. So incredibly relatable in so many ways. It definitely has helped with my journey and I will be reading it again and again to help me get through the difficult times I have been facing. I highly recommend this to anyone who is struggling with infertility! Don’t think twice you have to read this book!!

Laughing through the tears
This book was everything I was looking for and more. I was searching for an emotionally supportive book to help me cope with the infertility journey. I was initially looking for something “serious”. But this was the book I didn’t know I needed. The laughs throughout have truly helped my heart lighten. Sometimes we have to laugh through the tears (and butt shots). Thank you so much, Mel. Sloppy kisses back to you.

Great book on infertility
This book is an easy read and really hits home for those found through infertility. I felt like I could have wrote this as it is so spot on. I felt like I was friends with Melanie because every thing she shared I have gone through and maybe couldn't put in to words like she did. I think it would be a big help to those starting their journey of infertility or to give to a friend or family member in the beginning of your journey to provide insight.
