Connecticut Electric UBIP-1515, 15 Amp Twin Series Circuit Breaker, Grey

For those of us who have obsolete Pushmatic electric panels, these breakers are among the few choices for replacement or expansion, short of a costly replacement of the entire panel with a new one. Big box stores and even wholesale electrical supply houses rarely stock Pushmatic breakers anymore. These two-pole models, which double the possible connections at each breaker position, should be direct replacements for the original single-pole breakers, but they must be modified in order to be installed in most panels. The small metal plate (pictured in my photos) must be ground away or removed BEFORE this breaker will fit. Otherwise the metal plate prevents the breaker from being inserted all the way and secured (screwed) to the power buss. Once the modification was done, these breakers worked okay for me. Unlike the original ITE breakers, which had tiny, hard-to-read windows, these expose a red label showing when they're off.They worked for me, but the inconvenience of having to modify them prior to installation cost them a star.

Recently had an old pushmatic breaker fail. Anyone with an Pushmatic panel knows even used Pushmatic breakers are pretty expensive. This is an excellent and affordable new replacement for old Pushmatic breakers.

I received the item on time. It was easy to switch out the breaker with the existing in my electrical panel.

My circuit breaker box was made circa 1978, and this breaker did not fit well. Plus, the overall quality was not what I expected. The first one sent to me had a broken pushbutton. It was quickly replaced. However, the quality is not there and the push button is definitely a vulnerable breakage point. I would not recommend it, except under dire emergency and absolute need.

The breaker I received had not been properly riveted together, causing the back to hang slightly open and the buttons to not work properly. Fortunately, I had not yet installed it in my panel. A little peening on the rivet got everything back together, but this isn't the kind of quality control I want from a company that makes products to keep my house from burning down. I'm hesitant to use it.

Good price, fast shipping and fits the original breaker box well. It's a little different looking but that doesn't seem to affect the overall performance of the breaker.

These were more gray than black as seen in the photo, but they fit our box fine, protruding just a bit more than the old breakers. Both poles worked fine, and the breaker's tabs lined up properly with the backbone of the breaker box.

Phew! Couldn’t believe amazon actually had this. Without it, I would have had to call in an electrician to replace my panel.

It was far from an exact fit since it had a tab that needed to be cut off otherwise it was impossible to mount in Pushmatic panel.
