Works good. A few issues with power but it could have been the high humidity. Will follow up in a few months. Great instrument for the money

This might be a good device, but the one I got was corroded inside and didn't work, I returned it

Reasonably priced anemometer with some nice features
I'm using this anemometer to measure the air velocity distribution of an automotive radiator and calculate the volumetric flow rate of the air. As a hobbyist, I wanted a device that didn't cost a fortune yet was accurate enough for me to measure air velocity at idle speed. Another important consideration for me was the size of the sensing element. This device has a sensor that does not disrupt the air flow very much and can be inserted into tight spaces. With that in mind, here are my pros and cons:Pros: (1) small size and shape of sensor, (2) reasonable price, (3) good air velocity range, (4) has a built-in thermistor for temperature readingsCons: (1) sliding protective sleeve for sensor should be a tighter fit on the wand, (2) device should have a flow straightener in order to dampen the fluctuations due to stray air currents (not an issue when used in ducts), (3) device sometimes needs to be zeroed several times until the display shows zero.

Very Good !
Well made. Convenient to use. Good repeatability of readings. Does the job for the price.

TPI 565C1 Digital Hot-Wire Anemometer
I purchased this TPI hot-wire anemometer/air velocity meter several years ago and it seems to be holding up well. For a moderately priced unit, I think it has a lot of good features. It came with a rubber overboot and a decent nylon storage case as well as the 6 AAA batteries it uses. The unit has auto power off and reads degree C or F with temperature range from -5F to 175F as well as air velocity from 0.2 m/s to 20 m/s. It can be set to display either m/s, km/s, ft/min, knots or miles/h, but doesn't read CFM directly, so the reading must be converted using the formula in the manual. It has data recording and there is a 3.5mm serial RS232 output jack for printing and viewing the readings on a computer, but the actual RS232 cable isn't included. The remote hot-wire probe tip on this unit is approximately 3/8" in diameter and the probe is permanently attached with a cable that allows for an overall probe length of about 4-feet when fully extended, so it has plenty of reach for getting deep into plenums and ductwork. TPI recommends having the meter recalibrated once a year, so will need to be shipped to their service facility for that. Overall though, this meter seems to be well made and hasn't given me any trouble to date, so I would have no issue with recommending it.

A good product when considering most anemometers are very expensive
I use this anemometer to take quick greenhouse air movement readings and works well for quick measurements. A good product when considering most anemometers are very expensive. A good product.
