Queer As Folk: Series 2 [DVD]

negative portrayal of gay men
I bought this, remembering that I enjoyed in on TV in the 1990s. However, in 2021, I think it is completely out of date and I would not recommend it at all. The acting is wooden, but worse than that ....... I think it shows a very dated, negative portrayal of gay men. The characters are so flippant and careless in their relationships. It's like it was made in a time where Channel 4 just wanted to "shock". It doesn't show the truth about love and relationships. Would not recommend this DVD for anyone.

Fantastic Series - both 1 & 2 are a must watch
Can highly recommend both the first and second series of Queer As Folk. I've just bought both series on DVD as I first bought it, many years ago after watching it on tv, on video tape!! So as it's been many years seen I watched the series due to no video player I decided it was time to replace by videos and have a Queer As Folk series fest in the next few weekends. The music in both series it brilliant and I'm totally amazed it's not had a rerun on tv. Great actors, some of which have gone on to do greater things. If cheeky banter, great music, brilliant storyline and a bit of steamy sex is your thing then you won't be disappointed.

QAF 2 . TYING UP THE LOOSE ENDS OF CHARACTERS LIVES DUE TO PUBLIC REQUEST
brilliant series by c4, showing real life gay people ,except too much drugs in it, at least 95 % or more do not use drugs at all.also too much camp in it . a lot of gays are camp but as usual with tv and films ( all gays are queens ) . for every gay queen you see or now, there are at least 5 or more gays you don't know or suspect. the young boy was a scandal for the public but again it is somewhat true to life. there are many young gays that know they are gay but are too scared to tell parents or friends because of the nasty reactions a lot of them get also ieads to anyone older than them, even by a year is labelled a paedophile. I was surprised to notice JASON MERRELLS in it ( DECLAN from EMMERDALE ) who plays PHIL who dies early on of a drug overdose, but there are many more so called straight people who die of drugs overdose.and ANTONY COTTON in it from CORONATION STREET. but he played the stereo type gay who is a "screaming queen" as most people think of the normal gay person. That is why i liked BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN where the 2 main characters were shown as normal guys in life, not the queens usually portrayed in the media.

Fun!
There is nothing more queer than folk. Especially in this show! Good fun, about the lives of a group of gay lads in a Manchester in the 90s.Look out for Shaun fromcoronation street too!

Very good but could have been better
I would use this seller again and am 99% happy customer just one point would have made it perfect the case was sticky and not the cleanest. I cured this myself with a quick spray of polish and a duster. Then it was perfect might have been nice for the seller to do this. Other than that really quite small grumble I would use this seller again, the Case was in perfect condition apart from what I said above and the DVD itself was totally perfect. They packaging and delivery were perfect

More great comedy drama
Ok, so I'll admit that this series is barely a series. There are only something like 2 episodes. But the fun continues. Vince's and Stuart's relationship (or non-relationship) has moved on a little bit since the first series. Stuart may be becoming a little bit more self-aware, but he's still Stuart. And the other characters from Series One - Bernie, Alexander, Nathan and Hazel are still there and as entertaining as ever.

love the series
... love the series... wore my old vhs copy out so needed a replacement... great acting and fast moving STORY... not meant to be a documentary... just fun to watch. Brought my 3 lads up playing the cd music in the car ... as they remind me whenever anyone mentions the title of the series :)
