Really uncomfortable, but writes well - 2.5 stars
This pen is small and very lightweight: apart from the nib and clip it is all plastic ~ and not high quality plastic .The plastic finger grip is very narrow and quickly tapers towards the nib; although it is intended to offer some grip it doesn't, making it quite slippery and uncomfortable to use and therefore to control with any precision.Like many 'modern' looking pens it is a triumph of style over function. For example, the 'Edge' clip is hinged, but simply doesn't work - it is just a worthless gimmick! If it was alittle more 'honest', like a Jinhao X450/750, I'd give 4 stars.Like any tool, in a fountain pen function should never be sacrificed to style. The (quite small) steel EF nib is very fine indeed, but there is some springiness and it is sometimes possible to see some character in the stroke. The feed and nib are very wet indeed. It is supplied with two long international cartridges and will accept a standard converter such as a Faber Castell or Jinhao.Because it is a very lightweight pen I find that it isn't easy to control precisely. The cap posts well and sort-of improves balance and control, but the sheer lack of weight is the real issue (for me). The clip-on cap sits on both ends of the pen very securely.Overall, I have no real liking for this pen: it's too light and slippery to be comfortable. The ONLY positive point is the EF nib. I don't know about the wider Schmidt/Kaco nibs, but in those sizes there are far better cheap pens.Summary: there are far better - more comfortable - pens for a similar or lower price, notably the Jinhao 51A and Waterman Allure, both of which are thinner, but have a better grip. Not recommended.

the cap will always spilt
I really like this pen, it is very comfortable and the nib is excellent. The design mimics the Lamy 2000.However, the cap splits - I've had several now and they all end up splitting after a few weeks despite careful and gentle use. I have found the nib dries out - which must be due to the cap forming a poor seal; this would be the case if there was even an initially invisible crack. It is a real shame as I enjoy writing with this pen, the nib is smooth and has some character to it.

lovely extra fine nib.Writes from first filling ,and smooth to write with.
I received my Kaco Edge fountain pen today, a very pleasing pen to look at, it is very tactile, and I love the Matt black effect, the Extra fine nib is beautiful to write with, as I do a lot of drawing this pen will be will suited for the fine detail, the cap posts well if you write with posted cap and has a very pleasing weight to it , though by no means heavy.Comes supplied with two nice sized cartridges,of longer length, pen clip does not come far from pen good but to me that's not a problem as I carry mine in a sleeve. This pen wrote from putting the cartridge in and is smooth to write with. All in all a lovely pen and would not hesitate to buy as a gift or to recommend. If I had to say something negative then it would only be the box, I dislike plastic boxes, as I like to keep my pens in their boxes.

Be careful when inserting the ink refill as the 2 ends look very similar.
A good solid pen.Make sure you insert the correct end of the ink refill when setting up ‘unlike me’ nearly snapped the pen due to both ends look very similar so is confusing and I nearly forced it inPen nib does tend to dry up quite quickly like most fountain pens I imagine so remember to put top back on when not using it.I like the fine nib as you don’t get overspills.Good value for money.

Prone to cracking
Material cracks, but excellent writer.

A very nice writer.
A nice pen. Feels like Aluminium, but it's not; it's a type of polycarbonate called Makrolon. It looks sleek and is comfortable in the hand. A very smooth writer straight out of the box, laying down a fine line with no skips or hard starts. The only downside is the clip. It's difficult to use and not very attractive.Still a very good pen, though.

Lovely for extra fine writing or lines
I get through a lot of extra fine line pens so like to find ones that are relatively good value and easy to get supplies for...as this is.It is very easy to write with and provides what I want - extra fine line and characters.
