This shock is the same for either the left or the right, their isn't a left or right shock. By the way this job is super easy to do. Very happy with them.

Yes, this part should fit your 2011 E70 BMW X5. It is rear only though. I would encourage you to replace in pairs. I did so and fit them in my driveway with a simple jack, tire iron and pliers in about 45 minutes. The manufacturers website and YouTube have plenty of how-to videos to learn from. Good luck.

Do these come with a replacement collet for the air line fitting? I saw somewhere that they should but mine just arrived without any.

I've never seen one without the fitting but you can reuse your existing one if you can get the small compression collar out without damage. I've done it but it requires patience....
