These are fantastic! I put them in the Easter basket and my 2 1/2 year old loved watching them hatch and grow and then she has played with them ever since. They continue to shrink back down after you take them out of the water and they are tiny now! and super cute. we love them and are so curious to see how small they get while still maintaining their shape.

We got these for the grandkids stockings at Christmas. They absolutely loved them! The eggs are a little pricey, in my opinion. They are just a pinch bigger then a regular large egg & one came already cracked. The directions say 48 to 72 hours to hatch but they all hatched much faster. The cracked one, within a few hours of being put in the water. We gave that one to the youngest (with the least patience) so it worked out okay, in our case. The little dinos were about two and half inches long and about an inch and half to two inches tall. They're a little "gritty" when they first come out so we rinsed them off. Not knowing if it's toxic (hopefully it's not!) I definitely would give these to little one 2-3 yrs old as they would go straight in the mouth. The 7 -9 y/o enjoyed them fine. I wouldn't buy them again, because as I mentioned I think the price it too high for no more then you get, but for a one time thing, they're okay.

On the box it says it takes 1-2 days before the egg hatch well it took maybe an hour for the egg to hatch which the kids loved anyways. But then the box said if you leave it in the water for a longer time the Dinosaurs will get bigger. Well when the egg hatched the dinosaur was hard plastic so I knew that thing wasn’t getting any bigger.. it was fun for the kids but not what I expected.

These were a small stocking stuffer for Christmas. They were a surprise hit! The dinosaurs are fun colors, and they grow pretty large - we put them in drinking glasses and probably should have used a bowl to allow them to get even larger. My kids were hilarious too, because they both wanted to crack the eggs themselves and thought that was really fun (we don't usually let them crack eggs, so they found it very exciting). You're supposed to just put the eggs in water, and they work that way too. Overall, a cute idea!

Best toy ever. Lives up to its description and thrilled my kid for a good week as the eggs hatched and grew. Because of the hatching and growing process, we had multiple opportunities to discuss dinosaurs and eggs. Once the dinosaurs were removed from water, they dried and shrank over the next few days, and even that made for an interesting discussion about why they shrank. The dinosaurs, now firm plastic and smaller have been relegated to the occasional play session, like most toys; but the important part is the learning opportunities spread over time about dinosaurs coming from eggs and the processes involved in hatching the eggs and growing the dinosaurs, and finally, why the dinosaurs shrank.

Got these as a little science experiment for some three year olds and they loved them. The eggs are small but the Dinos grow a lot bigger than expected if you leave them in the water.The only draw back is that the dino is pretty slimy after everything is said and done. Kid's didnt really want to play with it afterwards so into the garbage they went. Great while the novelty lasted!

These eggs are awesome. My 3 year old has a fascination for dinosaurs and these eggs were a real good time for him. Before you get your eggs make sure you have a decent sized, clear bowl so that you can see the entire process. Very cool toy...it gave my son something to look forward to when He got home and helped him learn to be responsible because we had him do the daily water changes.

Save your money and buy those $1 foam capsules at the grocery store instead. I ordered two boxes of these -- one of dinosaurs, the other of (I guess) farm animals. Both arrived with at least one egg broken. When I put them in water, they did their "magic" and expanded (like they were supposed to). But the resulting creatures were slimy and barely any larger than they were when they were in the eggs. One of them was supposed to be a cat but looked like a scary monkey instead! Once they dry, the animal shrink back down to their inside-the-egg size. I thought this would be a fun thing for my kids but it was really disappointing instead. Seriously, save your money.
