You'll get your money's worth
This book is an overall great value for established vegans and beginners. It includes all the vegan staples you have probably already seen such as black bean burgers, risotto and roasted bell peppers. It has a lot of creative options too, even if you have already found favorite recipes for those staples. Some of my favorites found from this book were the bbq bean bowl, quinoa and broccoli stew and mexican casserole... something to spice up your normal routine. My favorite thing was that it sticks to NORMAL and cheap ingredients, especially the dried goods. This is awesome if you want to try this diet but don't want to get a ton of specialized ingredients. The included meal plan lays every meal out for 6 weeks including shopping lists and nutrition facts. I like this, just feel the shopping plan could be more specific with amounts. I.e. "2 kales" "1 bottle of olive oil" but you can figure this out with the recipes and once you get used to making them it'll be easier.I like all the small details included that helps take the stress off of new vegans... what kind of beans or legumes should i buy? How long to cook or soak the different kinds, will they give me enough protein? This is all answered. The one thing I probably dislike about this meal plan and recipe book is the breakfast options are highly reliant on smoothies and sweet "meals." It does have oat-based options but I was looking for a bit more in this department. Nothing wrong with it, but just not my preference.Great book overall. I think you can get your money's worth in a month or two out of this book and would recommend the buy!

Lots of information, good structure
This is a very comprehensive book. Not hard to read or understand...but definitely comprehensive. It breaks down all of the important information one could need when wanting to get serious about a vegan lifestyle and meal prepping. It is structured well and flows logically.I will say some of the info and the recipes are a little too ambitious for me personally. For example, I am not going to make my own vegan cheese or hummus. Call me lazy but I much rather spend the money to simply purchase those items. But that is just me.The recipes overall seem detailed but also easy to understand and follow. I have yet to try making one of them as I just got the book today. But at first sight, I would say there us something in it for everyone. The instructions on how to best store each one are super helpful. There is also a 6 week meal plan plus one shopping list per week included. Personally, I wont follow that because I do intermittent fasting and do not eat as many meals as there are in the meal plan BUT it is good for inspiration anyway. The spice mixes at the end are a cool touch. It will save time to premix those and just pull out one jar when wanting a specific flavor as opposed to flavoring each dish from scratch basically.

Great book and full of useful information!
I have not made anything yet from this book because I am just ready to start my meal prep for next week. However, I have had a chance to look through it. The first part is packed with useful info and has lots of easy to read charts. There is a chapter on essntials, hich doesn’t really interest me, cuz I will buy store bought, but a lot of people do make their own. Has a section how how to prep with tips on freezing, containers, preparing, etc. The smoothie recipes are called “bags” and you make them and freeze in bags. That is a great idea I have never thought of. It has a few weekly meal plans and shopping lists which I am looking at now to prepare for next week. Looks like the recipes all have nutritional info listed with them. One thing I would like to see, would be to add “soy-free” to the recipes if it is soy-free. A lot of people are allergic to soy, and I cannot eat it due to breast cancer. But I will review each recipe and make substitutions if needed for the soy (I am getting good at that.). If I am pleased with these recipes, I will probably go ahead and purchase the hard copy as I prefer the book format over a Kindle format. But all in all , I think this is a great book, and am excited to get started for next week.

Good for beginners
This book is really great for beginners- in nutrition, meal prep, and veganism. The book starts out with a brief explanation of important nutrition concepts, such as counting macros, micros, and calories. There is even a chart that shows what foods can provide you with protein as a vegan! One of the things I most appreciated about this book was its explanation of various types of food preparation. I can cook basic things, but I have always been intimidated of preparing new types of foods. This book has a section describing how to store various ingredients, and it even describes how to soak/sprout legumes (and for which ones you should do this). They even have a description of how to cook rice! Very beginner-friendly.Finally, at the end of the book, there is a schedule that explains how to prepare for the week. It provides not only a list of all the recipes you should make for a balanced diet, but it also tells you which days/meals you should eat them, provides a "nutrition label" with the calories/fats/etc. for each day, AND gives you a weekly shopping list so you don't have to figure it out yourself.Overall, I would highly recommend this book for anyone. Incredibly informative and also easy to use.

Expensive to follow!
The first week has 115 on the shopping list and the second week has 96 items! There aren’t many cupboard staples that cross over from week to week either. This plan would leave me skint if I followed it! Probably best to adapt and do a week repeatedly so you can re use some items! This isn’t a meal prep book it’s a recipe book! Meal prep that consists of one portion of a recipe each week?!?! What do I do with all the rest? Freeze it? Then cook something else next day and freeze the leftovers. This book infuriated me a bit to be honest.

Like nothing else out there!
This book was great as a starting place for veganism in general, as well as meal prepping. I've been looking for all this information for months! Most meal prep books focus on meat based meals so I've always struggled to find relevant advice. This book also runs through information about calories and macronutrients for anyone looking to live a healthier lifestyle.

Good Vegan Primer
This is a great book if you are ready to jump into the deep end of vegan eating. There is info on macrobiotics and microbiotics and how to calculate your needs. The recipes provide nutritional information and tell you how to store the food. The meal plan is already calculated to give you the proper nutritional balance for the day. It provides three meals and 2 snacks. Here is where it just got too ambitious for me - even the snacks are all recipe based - and I'm afraid I just don't like cooking enough to spend that much time preparing food. I like that there are recipes for spice blends and I will try a few of the quicker recipes, but this really is a book for people who like to cook.
