Results are fantastic. Installation process was not
I took a star away because the installation on my 2011 Challenger R/T was not as straightforward as it should have been. I believe they're aware of this, but haven't fixed it. The initial update on the computer was plagued with bugs, but after unplugging/plugging it back into the USB port it eventually "turned over" and did the self-updating. Windows wanted to take charge of the driver installation and the tuner wasn't ready for that. Just a case of car guys programming in windows, so not worth a deduction by itself. Now as far as loading it into the PCM, this is where it loses a star. It's a specially designed model for DCX cars so I expected flawless PCM integration. My car has the push button start. The installation asks you to run off and turn on the car several times like most tuners do. If you follow the prompts to the letter you will not be able to install this into your PCM. The first time it asks you to "turn off/turn on" it won't turn back on. You'll get a little red circle (indicator that there are electrical issues with the car) and literally nothing will happen. This doesn't kill the PCM, but it is panic inducing if you've ever read about the possible drawbacks of failed tuning. The way to fix this is to disregard the prompts asking you to turn off/turn on the car. I read this on the Diablo forum from a Diablo rep. Just ignore them completely and hit "OK" when they appear. It will count down for 10 and 3 seconds each time and proceed to the next step. If you get stuck somewhere, wait until whatever the tuner is doing completes itself. I don't recommend unplugging while it's got a loading screen, but if it's at a prompt screen ("Turn off the car", "Turn on the car", etc.) then it should be okay. I did this several times before figuring out I should ignore these prompts. If it's reading/writing/saving old tune/etc. don't unplug it. It's like that screen when windows is updating itself "Do Not Shut Down or Disconnect Your Computer". It can bork the whole PCM module if it's halfway through an update.I have heard others say using the FOB directly in the ignition (pulling the push button out) has worked for them. I tried that too with no success before I tried ignoring the prompts. Maybe it's my particular car? It's an R/T Classic so maybe there's some difference between the R/TC and regular R/T or SRT. Not likely, but I can't account for this difference. I have experience with tuners on previous vehicles and I'm highly technically savvy. I can rule out user error. So aside from the installation, I love the product results. The throttle response is the most dramatic change. My pedal was sluggish and sloppy giving me a disconnected feeling with the drive by wire. The upside to drive by wire is that with a handy little tuner you can make it as responsive as you want. Now it's off like lightning as soon as I roll into the gas. No more bogged down feeling in MDS mode. No more hammering it to pop back into 8 cylinders or downshift. It's ready to go whenever I am. It wants to be going fast. I put a Superchips tuner on my last vehicle and this Diablo tuner has already far surpassed those results. The default tuned shift points on the Superchips never felt right so I had to fiddle with them constantly trying to find what was comfortable. The Diablo has the option to make adjustments, but the default 91 tune feels natural for my driving style. I haven't upgraded the exhaust yet, but the ability to deactivate MDS is worth a couple hundred dollars by itself when the time comes. I've heard 4 cylinder mode with an aggressive exhaust just sounds weird. Gas mileage claims aren't going to be a major concern for me. I haven't put it through a tank where I aimed for high numbers yet (it's too much fun getting into it still), but I suspect it's probably a little more efficient with 91 or 93 octane than it was before. A couple MPG wouldn't be a shock, but that's no reason to purchase a tuner. Even if it did save a little it's going to be a couple years before it pays for itself if that's what you're thinking. Buy it for the enjoyment, not the meager savings potential and you won't be disappointed.

2 star product with 4 star capabilities
Despite the 2 stars I gave it, I am thrilled at what this device allowed to be done to my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit w/5.7 Hemi. The problem is the device itself and the tunes Diablosport provides.Pros: Was able to completely transformed how my Jeep drives, in a good way.Cons: Expensive. Included tunes are worthless. Many capabilities aren't accessible and require you to find a 3rd party to make a custom tune. Cheap feeling. Touch screen works poorly. If you want this device to actually make a difference in how much power your vehicle makes, or change its driving dynamics you must purchase a custom tune elsewhere.Despite the fact that the device itself is expensive yet cheap feeling and the included Diablosport tunes are worthless, I love what it can do. It is unfortunate that it REQUIRES the purchase of a custom tune from a 3rd party to really take advantage of what this device is capable of. I tried the included tunes and found they made absolutely no difference to how my vehicle felt in day to day driving or straight line acceleration. I posted that I was underwhelmed with what it does on the Diablosport forums and I was told I would need a custom tune to achieve results. Great. So I buy an already overpriced device to tune my car, and in order to really USE it I have to find someone to do a custom tune and pay even more money. Fortunately I already knew where to go - hemifevertuning since I am on a Jeep forum and their work is highly regarded. I bought a custom tune from them, and it was a night and day difference in experience. I was thrilled with the results. All my complaints about the Jeep drivetrain were resolved using the tuner to install the custom tune I purchased for $125.not only does the vehicle drive better, but it is more responsive and feels more powerful as well. In the custom tune I disabled MDS, which was the only change I made to the custom tune. Now my Jeep shifts better from 1-2 and 2-3, doesn't bog and surge at 35-40 MPH in 5th gear because it never gets to 5th at those speeds, and in general drives 10 times better than it did before.I didn't have any trouble getting the device up to date, and getting a tune installed. I first plugged into my PC and let it update. That took less than 10 minutes. I went out to my vehicle and plugged in. I was told I needed a PCM calibration so I had to disconnect and connect to my PC again. After another update I was ready to tune. It was a piece of cake and went flawlessly. It was largely self-explanatory to perform the install as the on screen display does a pretty good job. The options available are pretty spartan though - a custom tune gives the tune provider more capabilities that you don't have access to with the tuner itself. A big disappointment. Documentation included and on the web is quite poor though with not a lot of explanations on what adjustments do or how to use them. I have noticed when people try to get help on the Diablosport forums the canned response is "if you don't know what that feature is for, then you shouldn't be using it". What a helpful response. How is anyone supposed to learn what a feature is for and how to use it if nobody will explain what it is, what it is for, and how to use it?What you can do with this product after buying a custom tune is fantastic. The product itself is not. It is a necessary evil. Nothing more. Buy it, buy a custom tune, grumble about having to do it and spend that much money, and be happy with the end results.

great product couldnt be happier
used on my 2011 dodge ram 1500 4.7 and it is like night and day but you do have to play around with the parameters a little bit but overall i very happy with it and couldnt be happier that i spent that kind of money on such an amazing product to wake my truck up, i do wish it was adjustable on the fly. i reprogrammed the computer to my 35s i do wish however that they had better tunes and not have to order them for the extra $199.99 from one of the tunning companys such as "flyin ryan performance" "moes performance" sct tunes" "hemi fever" and yes hemi fever does do tunes for the 4.7s also if anyone was wondering i plan on getting a custom tow tune for when i pull people. i have my own pulling company im starting here in michigan called "TIER 1 OFFROAD RECOVERY" i have multiple friends that are in the group that if im not around they will come pull and it dont matter where or when one of us WILL get you out!!!

2012 challenger r/t classic
I had been waiting since day one for a tuner for my 2012 r/t classic, so my expectations were a little high. The unit does preform great. The first time I ran the tuner on my vehicle I discovered I had to leave the ignition in the on position the whole time during calibration and tuning (even when it says to turn the ignition off) that was the only hiccup. After that, the tuning was a breeze. The ability to turn off the MDS alone was worth the price to me. As far as performance increase, it is noticeable but not mind blowing. I was running 0-60 in 5.6 sec before the tuner and 5.1 sec after the tuner to give you an idea. The device itself feels cheap and fragile, but I can get over that. All in all its a good investment for my challenger.
