AIAIAI: TMA-1 Ghostly Edition DJ Headphones

I bought a pair of these headphones recently, for general, daily non-professional use, listen to streaming music, podcasts & audio books. Ghostly International, an American independent record label, collaborated with AIAIAI, a danish designer of personal audio on this special edition version of their DJ headphones.## Praise - The sound quality is very good. I'm not an expert audiophile. I didn't do a wavelet component analysis, but everything comes through clear and full. Electronic music and other instrumental compositions (modern rock, pop, etc.) sound best. These are designed for use by DJs. - The cord is removable, preventing stress damage. - Leather padding is soft and appears to be good quality, suggesting durability. - Unbelievable noise-canceling ninjutsu! I was shocked that over-the-ear headphones could totally block the outside world. I put a sign up at work with a drawing of me wearing them, indicating people should "tap for my attention". Sound leakage is also minimized: A person standing next to me cannot hear anything playing at medium volume. - They look sharp without trying. The matte black on black is a minimally conspicuous look, like something you'd see in an art gallery's gift shop.## Concerns - While I wear these for several hours at a time, they put pressure on the top of my head enough for me to want to shift them around. The fit is adjustable, so perhaps I will experiment more with the fit and report back. - The travel bag is nice and I do use it, but doesn't provide much protection. - A microphone option on the cord would be nice for use during my conference calls with Chuck D.Shopping for headphones can be daunting, with so many brands and models, and there are a lot of mediocre products that sell by brand recognition. Full disclosure: I had a discount from the manufacturer, which also motivated me to pay the premium for this special edition model.
