Downspout Filter, Slim Line, 3"x4", Low Gloss White

We have used something similar at our former home and like the convenience and easibility of cleaning and not having to worry about our tight lines clogging

Make sure it is what you want. I ordered the wrong size then ordered the correct one to discover a 33 dollar restocking fee. Shipping costs happens. Ugh never seen this before on Amazon. Seems to be working fine.

I had to replace an underground pipe which took the water from the downspout of a townhouse roof out to a cement sidewalk pipe and then out to the parking lot. The underground pipe in the dirt portion was 95% full of what could only be dirt manufactured from composted roof materials (ie leaves) that got through the gutter during 39 years of accumulation....It was pretty hard digging up the pipe and I didn't ever want to do it again.Well, no more! lol...this device is being used now to catch anything that goes into the undergound pipe. I can empty it at will. There is a small sponge inside that filters out the rainwater from the roof so that I catch all of the bigger...small things from the gutter.

I live in an area with frequent heavy rain, and by "heavy" I mean sometimes we roll up our pants and walk barefoot till the flooding subsides. I obtained one of these filters to test on one of my many standard 3"x4" downspouts and was disappointed with how difficult it was to install. The incoming downspout into the top of the filter has to be slimmed quite a bit, and the filter's design allows only an inch or so of depth in which to insert the slimmed portion of the incoming feed. So cutting the existing downspout has to be done precisely to account for the filter itself and the small length of the existing tube that will be made narrow for insertion into the top of the filter. I made it work, but it ain't pretty. The fit wasn't very tight, so I ended up using white duct tape to make a decent seal.It wasn't long before we had a typical summer downpour. I was disappointed to see water squirting out of the filter door, and also backing up within the downspout. The holes punched into the filter basket's bottom and sides would seem to represent approx 100% of the downspout area, but the small holes offer more restriction than an open 3"x4" tube. So even without and leaves the filter cannot adequately pass a heavy rain flow.If you situation has light rain, and your downspouts fit better than mine, this might be a suitable filer. But for my situation this experiment was a bust.

This is probably the best downspout filter out there. I purchased them with the 2x3 reducers directly from Aquabarrel. The only problem is some of them leaked because of the reducer that is placed into the bottom with silicone (I had to repair a couple of them myself with more sealant). This won't be a problem with the 3x4. I reached out to their customer service and got no response which was a little disappointing.

OK product .....way tooooooo expensive

It is as described. Functions as it should. So far, so good.

Product is WAY overpriced and is poor quality. It feels cheaply made and doubt it will hold up for long. Will be returning product. Save your money and look elsewhere!
