It works for basic jumps, but if you try to do any crossovers or diamond shapes the elastic is not stretchy enough. The kids have to stand really close together so that the jumper can do those jumps, otherwise it pulls on their ankles and hurts. My kids still love the game, and it's nice that there are instructions on the packaging to refresh your memory. But I ended up buying a different brand for my niece and nephew in the hopes that the material would be stretchier. Theirs was stretchier and therefore more like how I remember the elastic should be.

I was excited to teach my grand daughter how to play cats cradle with the chineese jump rope. I was very disappointed to find out it is held together by a loose knot, which gets in the way while playing this game. I'm guessing it will come apart easily while playing Chineese jump rope.

I bought this Children's Chinese jump rope to teach my grandchildren how to play.We had lots of fun with it!!My grandchildren had no idea what it was, but once they found out how to play, they actually had a lot of fun and laughs learning how to play. I will be buying another Chinese jump rope. My granddaughter wants one of her own. 😊

I had hope my grandkids could learn to play this and enjoy it as much as I did when I was a kid. I guess they are the only one learning or maybe to young. They are having a hard time learning. Ages 7 & 10.

The rope is small...it's like the company was cheap and didn't want to use much elastic...so it isn't a large enough playing surface.

The elastic band is too tight and not long enough. It is already tearing after one use.

The ropes we had as children are better. This one has a huge knot. Should be smooth. It was cheap so it doesn’t really matter, but I’d sooner get another one, without the very huge knot.

Happy to find this online because I could not find in any store near me. Kids have a lot of fun playing with this.
