Save your strength, let the tool do the work!
I love this tool. Purchased it to push 1/2 an d 3/4" rebar through pre-drilled holes in railroad ties to be used as landscaping. Prior to purchasing this, I was using a sledge hammer, which worked fine but my 50 year old muscles really appreciate this bit.I would like to make one thing clear. I use this bit in a very large hammer drill with a 25 pound Hitachi drill head. All I need to do is hold the drill and the tools do 99 percent of the work. I cannot comment on using it a smaller drill head as I don't have one to try.Would I buy it again? This thing is rock solid and unless I lose it, it should last me forever. But yes, I would absolutely get a new one.

Works great
A nice solution that works well. With Amazon prime it arrived quickly and seemed like a good value

Great for driving rebar
I used this in conjunction with my Milwaukee M18 rotary hammer to drive pieces of 2' rebar into the ground. It was very helpful. If I didn't hit any rocks, they went in like a hot knife through butter. If I hit a rock I could almost always make it through the rock but it took a while. Once I could get through the rock at all, I assume it was a big one. I just cut that piece off with a sawzall and moved onto the next.

the good news for the product
a deeper, tighter fit would keep the roto hammer from giving me a free bull ride at the top of a ladder. That aside, I had to run an alternative ground rod setup because I could not get through the Central Texas Limestone even after hammering away for a long time. the good news for the product: the ground rod flared before the tool. took 1 star off for wonky fit, but in softer soil you would never notice. it survived the rock hammering abuse, even though it did not ultimately get my ground rod in. (not this particular tools fault!) well built tool.

If A Tool Is Required To Drive A Ground Rod, This Tool Will Pay For Itself.
I have tried many a ground rod driver methods and tools. Spent too much time, gotten frustrated and broke a few innovative tools. THIS has proven time and again to accomplish the task in a timely manner, without fail and without damage. I actually use it in my Hilti TE-72. It fits without any additional pieces required. If you need a tool to drive a ground rod, this tool will pay for itself many times over.Of course; I've driven more than one ground rod, more than one size AND I already own the Hilti.

Saved my spine
Used this to install a 6 foot ground rod in crappy Arizona caliche dirt in 5 minutes . Worth every penny and saved my back from swinging a sludge.

Like the oversized throat
This driver is very versital. Coupled with a Makita HR4013C, it makes short work driving both 5/8 and 3/4 ground rods. It is also very useful for driving 3/4" (or less) rebar stakes for landscaping. One reviewer cited the "oversized" throat (.8635") is troublesome when dirving a 5/8 ground rod. A trick I use, is to cut a 4" or so section of 1/2" PVC conduit and bush down the driver. The plastic is hard enough to withstand the abuse and can be "extracted" fairly easily. It works well in hard clay. And always put your acorn on first.

Works great
It just arrived and I used it today to drive a ground rod.The ground rod goes 4" into the ground rod adapter. I attached the grounding cable 4" below the end of the rod then so it got driven below the ground. Alternatively you can either dig around the ground rod to attach the grounding cable or you can drive the last 4 inches by hand after the grounding cable is attached.

Was told it would 100% fit a HILTI Breaker - It doesn't...
