Source Naturals CCM Calcium - Calcium Citrate and Malate - 300 mg - 120 Tablets

This product was what I was looking for because I was pleased with the ingredients and especially the mg. per tablet. You see, I never intended to get my RDA for calcium strictly through a supplement for fear that it might not get absorbed and thereby pose a risk for calcium deposits in my arteries. This product, being low dose, gave me the option to supplement using only a little portion of the RDA. I consume a lot of dietary calcium already, but my lab work showed I was just a bit low.

Three years ago I had a bone density test showing the very, very beginnings of osteoporosis. The doctor wasn't too concerned yet. I had been taking some generic big-box store brand of calcium. So, I did some Internet research regarding the different calcium supplements available and decided to try the CCM Calcium. I take one tablet in the morning with vitamin D and then one before bed. I also take my regular multi vitamin. I just got the bones tested again and everything came back normal. I don't know if it was because I took this supplement or if the test just missed something, but I am going to continue with my dosage and continue to buy this brand of CCM calcium.

I’ve never had so many broken pills in any of the supplements I have purchased. I guess I could take them broken in half but I think this is just port quality control. I threw out many of the broken pieces. I will order once more as this 300 mg dosage is hard to find. But if they are broken like this again, I will not reorder.

My PCP wanted me to take 300mg and it was very hard to find that dosage, however this has it so perfect for me. Everything else about the product is great.

The positive side is that calcium citrate-malate is a high absorption form of calcium compared to carbonate which is the lowest. The negative side is the poor quality of the pill itself. They are very chalky, they leave a white powdery touch on your fingers, don't have a smooth coating finish and therefore don't sail down your throat smoothly. And several of the tablets were broken in the bottle (poor quality control). The reason I believe is because they are much cheaper than other brands. I would never buy this brand again and it pays to buy better quality and higher priced brands of calcium citrate-malate.

I got this product at the recommendation for mental health purposes. I'm not sure if it worked the way I was told it would but it's easy to swallow, left no taste, and surprisingly helped with sleep to an extent...or maybe I was just exhausted, either way, its pills.

I've been taking this supplement for years and have been happy with it.

My wife is challenged by large pills. We bought the 300mg one’s expecting that they would be smaller - and they’re not.
