Worth the few extra bucks to get this level of quality and performance
As a professional musician, I have gone through a few mixers over the years and recently needed to replace my Behringer mixer (which replaced my 8-year old Mackie 1202 only a couple of years ago). The Behringer mixer started to make intermittent noise distortion that couldn't be anticipated or nullified without shutting down and starting up again. The last thing you want to deal with at a gig is an issue with sound... Thankfully, I always bring a backup mixer and have had to switch over to a micro mixer a few times before relenting and purchasing a new full size. This time I opted for the Soundcraft and so far I have been really impressed. The build quality and the performance have been stellar! The effects are clean and the EQ is intuitive. With an eight-piece ensemble, it offers ample inputs and headroom. I've had it on over ten gigs so far with no issues. I pray it lasts longer than the Behringer and will follow up should I run into any problems.

Good sounding, functional mixer.
The first thing that should be noted is that almost any other manufacturer would call this a 12 channel mixer; it has 8 XLR inputs with phantom power and two stereo inputs. I've been recording with it and had my first live gig with it recently and it performed admirably. My only quibbles with it would be that minor difference in the heights of the PFL buttons between the engaged and not engaged positions and the lack of the "rude" solo light as on Mackies. With the continuous lights from the effects unit on it is not always easy to tell that the PFL is on and if so, which channels. The Lexicon effects sound great and have several parameters which can be adjusted and saved, but lights indicating the bank and program would be nice, but perhaps difficult to include in a unit with this footprint. That being said, if you take time to adjust the effects to your liking and use primarily one effect it should suffice very nicely. Not the same as a dedicated rack mount unit but very useable.

I have used this soundboard several times now since receiving it and love everything about it
Product arrived brand new and exactly as advertised.I have used this soundboard several times now since receiving it and love everything about it.It has 8 individual xlr / 1/4" inputs that support phantom power, eq mixing and digital effects, which is better than any comparable board. The sound quality is excellent, it is easy to use, very portable and feels durable as heck. The effects processor is good. After messing with it a bit, I found that I liked a touch of the reverb but don't typically use anything else.I generally play acoustic folk music with 2-5 piece bands in small to medium venues and this board works perfectly for everything I've encountered.I've paired it with the Bose L1 Compact for a great natural tone and sound that fills most spaces adequately.

Great little mixer
I got this mixer for 2 reasons - as a simple analog backup to my Presonus StudioLive 16.4.2 digital mixer (Would just be able to scrape by using all the aux inputs when using with my 5 piece rock band) and as a smaller mixer with built-in effects for use with my acoustic trio (2 guitars + bass, 3 vocalists). Sounds great, effects sound really good, kinda simple and really basic, but that's really OK by me. The only thing I wish it had was a graphic EQ on the main and monitor output - I find myself wishing for that almost every time I use it - but I chose this over a similar Mackie product (ProFX12) as a higher quality product with better sounding effects, and I'm OK with that decision still. EQ is useful and musical. Board is clean and quiet. Highly recommended.
