Easy to install looks great

Nice product but can be a little tricky to install but in all a good product and the LEDs are nice and bright.

It's made out of a very rigid and lightweight plastic which makes fitting it a little bit awkward - it feels like bits are going to snap off at any moment. Sleeving on the cable is a bit sloppy with some of the raw cabling being visible where it meets the device. For reasons unknown the ThermalTake RGB app has never heard of it so controlling it is awkward especially as the third party SignalRGB app has native support for it.Also I wish it was available without the controller - I had a spare port on my existing one so had no need for another.

Pacific R1 Plus DDR4 Memory Lighting KitRGB lighting cover for DDR4 memoryCan be used with downloadable Thermaltake TT RGB PLUS software or ASUS, GIGABYTE, MSI or AsRock 5V motherboard RGB software. Has 16.8M colors LEDs and also glows directly onto the RAM modules. The RGB gradient is very smooth and brightly illuminated.The part fitted over tallish G-Skill Trident Z RAM modules (44mm high) without issue. Clearance will be tight if an AIO that has hoses which cross the RAM is fitted. Clearance issues are also likely if a tower or large CPU cooler is fitted as the Pacific R1 Plus adds approx another 20mm to the height of existing RAM when fitted.Fitting is provided by a locking clip at one side of the part. It can be installed either way around but if you want the Thermaltake logo to be shown on the right then the single cable exits out of the top. The cabling, as is the case with most of Thermaltake’s accessories is on the long side which will prove challenging to manage in some computer cases.The 5 port controller hub looks the same as that supplied with Thermaltake’s fan products but for me, was the only one which allowed you to select the correct device from a dropdown in the TT RGB PLUS software. Fortunately other compatible Thermaltake products worked with the hub. The hub can be daisy chained with Thermaltake’s products to allow RGB syncing across multiple devices (fans, lighting strips and AIO’s).The parts are well constructed and the installation guide is clear. Installation isn’t too difficult and everything is included in the box. You will need a spare Molex connector for power, a spare USB 2 motherboard header or you can connect the Pacific R1 Plus to the 3-pin RGB motherboard header from a select few manufacturers (ASUS, GIGABYTE, MSI, and AsRock)Only minor complaint lies with Thermaltake’s TT RGB PLUS software that is buggy, looks dated and takes a bit of getting used to. I also found that if the Pacific R1 Plus is used with other Thermaltake devices on the same controller, then it should be connected to the first of five ports otherwise the lighting effects get messed up.If using the Pacific R1 Plus in a system with liquid cooling or an AIO it will be a straightforward installation due to the height of the part when fitted.Slightly pricey for the functionality that is offered but you do get a controller hub that allows connection of fans or other compatible accessories should they be needed in the future.
