These phones are running 5.1.1(Lollipop) but work well for our towing business where a rugged phone and a large display helps. When dropped from a 30 foot overpass, they break. When run over with 20,000 lbs of truck tires, they break. But it's less than $100 bucks to replace them, so they are ideal for field communication, that doesn't need the last five Android operating system upgrades. We also use AT&T's enhanced push to talk with them.

This is my third Kyocera phone. They hold up well. This model, however, hasn't had a software update since 2016. As a result, half of apps aren't even available for download; because they are incompatible with the old operating system.This model has very little internal memory. An SD card is a necessity.This phone is a good choice as a cheap, durable way to make calls and surf the web. But if you rely on any extra apps, there's a good chance you won't have access to them.

Kyocera Duraforce XD E6790 --This phone is huge-much bigger than I thought it would be. The issue is with the UI system itself. It crashes many times, the apps-once you minimize to answer a phone call or text message-restart when you maximize again and you lose your progress on shows or music or with whatever you were doing. The speaker crackles on, stays on for a few moments, and then crackles off randomly even you are doing things that do not require a speaker. I know they've had problems with this system, but these annoyance don't grow on you. As with any Kyocera, the durability is great but that is probably the only upside I see with this phone. I have always gone with Kyocera, but this time with the model phone I was sorely disappointed. Another downside, is that with their awesome waterproofing, the SD card is UNDER the battery, so in order to switch, you have to unscrew the back, pull off the covers, shut off the phone, pull out the battery, and pull out the SD card. And hope nothing resets.Love Kyrocera, but this phone was a disappointment.

Great delivery kyocera cell phone. But phone is non functioning, won't charge and no light. T-Mobile staff tried to set it up but its a lemon phone.Susan

Put this thing through abuse for the last year. The durability is great. I've yet to scratch the screen bad enough to show up when backlit. And I have abused it. Daily drops from my pocket, sitting on it, dropped wrenches on it, etc. It rides in a pocket full of keys sand and wrenches, nearly 24/7.This is a better phone than the regular duraforce I used the year previous. Battery life has come down some, but it's still good enough to last the day.Couldn't be happier.

I own an "enduro" style motorcycle looking for a "rugged" phone. Ordered this one because for the price and stats of being a rugged phone this fit the billIt said it was wide and yes its WIDE actually its TOO WIDE! if you use a Ram Mount or Other cheaper mounts you can't use this phone! its has a button on the Center of Left side for a "Quick App load" cool feature if you're a hiker but not for this situation. The straps you put around the phone to secure it in place? wont work because this phone is so huge! If that center button wasnt there it wouldnt be bad.Battery life is ok. They claim 30ish hours? yeah if you don't install any apps, I installed Messenger and facebook just to see life span. I got 5 days before the phone required a recharge. I removed both apps and it can go weeks without charging,Apps like Avenza for Maps doesn't work because the OS is out of date. Other apps are out there like CalTopo work with this phone but it requires a lot of tweaking to make it work,.GPS works great as do most phones' GPSIts a Google Phone made only to run TMobile . I just wanted the GPS + Rugged feature So i never set up the wireless.The phone is Huge did i mention that? without the battery and back case its not bad, But its still bigger than a Iphone 8s Plus! If feels like it could withstand some abuse but because its huge it also weighs a lot!Very heavy phone! Your pockets will pull down and make it uncomfortable to walk with. its like you would need its own carry "purse"so bottom line. if you plan on using it for motorcycle touring. I recommend getting an Iphone 7s or 8s on ebay used for the price as this one new but it will lighter and have ios 13+ which means all your apps like avenza will work.

I can't download anything because the software is so outdated not even YouTube or Facebook messenger can be used none of them work because it's "not compatible" DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS ONE

Arrived NIB on time and works fine on AT&T. Was a bit bigger than I expected.One I turned off extraneous apps, battery life is excellent, works good even in high noise situations.
