Scott's Porage Oats - 1kg

We often had Scott's Porage Oats for breakfast when we lived in Scotland. Happy memories! So I was happy to find the same brand of oats on Amazon. I am to discover that the brand has not changed at all. Easy and fast to prepare and just as delicious to eat.

Having run out of another Scottish porridge sold by Amazon, I found out that it is temporarily unavailable. So, I read all the reviews of Scott's Porage Oats, which had outstanding complaints about its packaging,i.e., burst or leaky. Almost all the reviews mentioned how delicious it was, so throwing caution to the wind, I ordered Scott's Porage Oats. My boxes arrived on time, no leaks. Upon opening the box I noticed that the oats was not in a protective plastic bag, just in the box, hence complaints of leakage. Maybe the manufacturer is already working to remedy this problem. It is such a delicious product to have negative reviews.

I had porage/oatmeal when staying in a B&B in Edinburgh, Scotland and spent a long time trying to find the same product here in the USA. I have purchased it through a few UK foods stores, but I am thrilled this product is conveniently available here on Amazon.The Scott’s oats are rolled thicker than standard oats and are gently baked to create what the company considers to be "the truest taste.”I prepare mine by mixing one measure (I use 1/2 cup) of porage with two measures of water and zap in microwave for 1 minute and 45 seconds. I like it plain or with milk I am thankful to have an oatmeal product that is “instant” yet free of the American heavily sweetened versions. Plus, the texture is what makes it exceptional.

These Scottish Oats cook nicely and make a very satisfying breakfast. They cook easily in about 4 min and taste great with a little honey and dried fruit.

This is great oatmeal. We have bought it several times over the last couple of years. Try it toasted in butter, then cooked! Great!However, their packaging SUCKS. Probably 1/3 of the boxes have arrived broken and leaking. This last one had about 1/2 the contents spilled inside the amazon packaging. The oats weren't damaged, but they really should improve their packaging box.

This is the best porridge/oatmeal/whatever you want to call it that my husband and I have ever had in our LIFE. You can taste how the milk expands the oats, making it very creamy and thick. An actual “sticks to your ribs” meal. After buying 1 box, we immediately bought 2 more to have on hand. Delicious with salt and/or brown sugar and cinnamon. Ditch the Quaker Oats, 15/10 recommend!

Had this product recently for first time in Glasgow. Takes 7-10 minutes to prepare, and as cooking directions are expressed in grams and ML, you need a scale and appropriate measuring cups. Results are--in a word--yummy. SO MUCH BETTER THAN AMERICAN OATMEAL.

If you go to Scotland and get porage this is it! Fast easy and good.
